A review I found that was just posted

And a graphical comparison to the original

It'd be great if that dude didn't eat half a dozen valium before speaking

Also his review is based off an early build? Sooooo it's bullshit. What a shitheap this guy is.

REEEEEE I need to be the first!

I think every review that comes out will be made on an early build. But yeah, it's more of a changes made comparison rather than a review.

There's a PC Gamer show going on Twitch right now, maybe the idea was to announce the shadow drop during it?
Called it. They just announced the shadow drop on the show

Can’t Git Gud
Wife is out of town for the weekend.

Pickin' this bad boy up tonight. Gonna do yet another viewing of The Thing, drink some whiskey, then smoke a cigar while reading Dark Matter before I boot this up.

Livin' the life
Sounds great.
But you can't stop on one carpenter movie bro. Gotta watch The Fog, They Live or Prince of Darkness

Picking it up as long as user reviews are decent. $30 is maybe a smidge high but I want to play it. Perfect time of year for it.

$40 Canadian and can they suck my balls. If it was $20 I’d buy it today, now I’m gonna wait till it’s $10 or less.

It wasn't random in the original. The exact same NPC slot would always turn into a thing at an exact point you crossed through a certain room or area. It was especially apparent when going to a new level/area as there were moments where they simply could not come with you. Great game but this was a flaw that stuck out unfortunately.
Eh really? Hmm, either i forgot or i feel that way back before.

Anyway, is there any QoL such as over shoulder camera or it is still like before?

They’ve done a hell of a job. Holy shit 😧
For not doing a true remaster this does seem like a good job. But I echo other users critique on pricing, I can wait for a sale or gamepass treatment. Lots of fond memories playing this as a kid on the original Xbox tho and going to the library across the street with my spare change jar to see if I had enough to print out a text based guide lol. I’d shrink everything down to 6px font size 🤣

Still have my og Xbox copy, but yeah this already feels like the “definitive” way. And it’s a tough as fuck game at points so I don’t blame you for needing a guide lol

The Nightdive peeps are something else man

Yeah it was a limitation at the time. Honestly this game badly needed a sequel to build on the aspect of 'who can you trust' NPC team members, and also letting them pass specific game boundaries so that more chaos could occur.

Unfortunately the camera changes are minor and it still has the feeling of a 2000s PS2/Xbox game from everything I'm reading.

30€ seems like a bit too much, I'll still think about it over the weekend, because I obviously want to play and I'd love to support the studio.

Although £20 felt like the sweet spot for me, I grabbed it anyway. Last game I'm buying this year though. I love the movie and remember only playing a bit of this on the Xbox near it's release.

I liked this a lot on PS2 but eventually got completely stuck. A mini boss had been triggered and I had no health, no ammo, and no way back to the previous area. Load the saved game, die within seconds. Had to abandon it.

Anyone know if stuff like that still happens in the remake?

I watched a good video posted last night where they were saying that these scenarios were fixed in the remaster. They mentioned ammo and health being more plentiful in the game, specifically regarding more difficult areas and bosses.

I'm not sure on specific parts of the game, but I'd imagine these are much more balanced now.
