Story:

The Walking Dead: Michonne stars the iconic character from the comic book series haunted by her past and coping with unimaginable loss and regret. The story explores her untold journey during the time between issues #126 and #139. Through this Telltale Games mini-series of 3 episodes, players will discover what took Michonne away from Rick, Ezekiel, and the rest of her trusted group... and what brought her back

It will take place in the same universe as The Walking Dead: Season One, 400 Days, and Season Two. That means that there is a possibility that events and/or characters from previous games could be referenced and/or shown in The Walking Dead: Michonne. Likewise, there's a possibility for events and/or characters from The Walking Dead: Michonne to be referenced and/or shown in The Walking Dead: Season Three.

I'm not sure if it's officially been stated yet, but if I had to guess I'd assume that we might see one or two of their original characters from this miniseries show up in S3 sort of like 400 days had some of their characters show up in relatively minor roles.

It may seem very daunting to start the comic now that it's 150+ issues in, but I assure you that it's fantastic and well worth the time investment.

Agreed. And they have the graphic novel style as well. So it seems less daunting when 20+ issues are crammed into one book.

It is what I am going to do for the new Star Wars ones. Just wait for the larger 'novels' of them in hardcover.

If I remember correctly you're right, the Lily in the game was supposed to be the Lily from the comics but then they released a novelization that retconned that so Telltale actually went back and changed the name of some of the achievements that made mention of her being the same character.

The games have always been connected to the comics. It's just completely separate from the TV show.

No, it's not connected to the previous games just takes place in the same universe (the comic one). Michonne isn't going to stumble upon Clem or anything. They're keeping characters separate.

It might, yeah. This game supposedly takes place between issues 126 and 139. The TV show is currently adapting material around issue 91 or so, so there might be a line or two for comic fans that could spoil a future plot development in the show.

I suspect they'll play it smart and keep it vague, but I'd wait on impressions if you're worried.

Thanks, I'll wait to hear what people say. I'm kind of hoping they wouldn't put anything in there to spoil the show because I'd have to imagine a lot of people who have played the other Walking Dead games are the same as me and haven't read the comics either.
