The Walking Dead Michonne |OT| Clementine will remember that

1. Comic
2. Also comic

Incase you don't know, the show is based (not 100% but close enough) on the comic.

1. Yeah, it does.

2.

I suppose that explains why they have no regard for the correct voice actors. I wonder why they go off The Walking Dead comics but The Game of Thrones TV show.

As for Ezekial, has he been subbed in by another character in the show or has he yet to be introduced? He looks pretty cool.

I bet it's due to licensing. Doesn't Activision have the license for the TV show?

Telltale made Walking Dead back when it was still doing comic book properties like Sam & Max, and Fables(Wolf Among Us) which was shortly after. They only got the GoT property to work on after they got successful.

He hasn't made his debut yet in the series.

The tv-series seems to follow the comics a bit more now, so at this point Ezekiel will make his debut next season.

Okay I just finished it. Way too short. Took me about 90 minutes or so. I enjoyed it more than the Game of Thrones episodes but it's nowhere near The Walking Dead Season 1/2, The Wolf Among Us or Tales from the Borderlands level of quality.

Hmm...may wait to see the reception for the other 2 eps before committing. I didnt think S2 was that great myself either (nowhere near the level of S1)

Holding out hope for S3

As with all episodic games, I'm just going to wait for the complete series collection on this one. There is pretty much zero consumer benefit to releasing a game in pieces.

Just finished it.

It has potential, I was worried at first after the ripoff that was 400 Days. Hope it does get better though, I was happy to see more free roaming options picking stuff up, but it was still a little too on rails like S2 was.

Anyone feel that the controls were a little too sensitive? On the PC version at least?
It took me a minute to use the damn binoculars to look over board to find the Ferry.

I just finished this and thought it was quite good. At the very least Telltale has stepped their engine up, game looked good and didn't run into any performance issues. Big fan of the comics and I love MIchonne as a character - interested to see where this goes.

I felt the same thing. I was actually surprised when I got credits. Strange place to end it. I feel like it took me 2 hours at the most.

I died a lot in this too. Especially during the
3 button combo prompt
. Didn't expect that from a game that usually has a simple control scheme.

Hopefully the next episode comes out as scheduled.

The standard Telltale episode takes 60 to 90 minutes, not sure how that surprises anyone. Didn't die once, I felt the controls were much tighter than ever before and the button prompts lasted longer than in other TWD episodes. Graphics were surprisingly crisp, detailed texturing, improved animations and a sleek looking new UI. Love how the button prompts are now 3D and integrated into the scene.

The fight scenes were much more dynamic, I had a blast cutting through zombies. Story was ok, decisions and reactions were good, characters ok. I know Sam is going to be an annoyance but so what. Overall very good Telltale episode, great TWD episode, can't wait for the next.

Still running on the same shitty engine?

Yes and it's stuttering way more than for example Borderlands, also the load times got longer towards the end which was weird (PC, SSD). It's almost like they used an even older version of the engine or something. Going from finishing LiS yesterday to this didn't help.

You know you didn't have to press them all at once but one after another? Tho I got confused at first and died one time too, the prompt could've been clearer.

The standard Telltale episode takes 60 to 90 minutes,

The Borderlands eps were afair all over 2hrs long, as were the ones in TWS s1 and most of Wolf's. Worst was TWD s2 and I agree that this felt rushed, they should've added another 30-60 minutes to introduce the characters
on the boat
better. I mean TWS must be Telltale's most successful series but everything after s1 lacks polish and care imo.

If you played Tales from the Borderlands, they started using far more button prompts during combat in the later episodes, so I expect this to be something that they use going forward. IIRC in ep 5 of Tales there were 3-5 buttons/sticks for some moves during the last fight.

Um... so I'm kinda disappointed by this? And I was super excited for it. I think it took me around 1½ hours.

- - Spoilers? - -

But I didn't feel invested at all in the story... it was kinda boring and nothing exciting really happened? It had events and tense moments that led you to believe something scary or whatever is gonna happen and then nothing. The Sam character is beyond annoying and I can't stand her or looking at her.

There was not one single exciting or shocking thing that happened tbh... maybe cause the whole captured thing has been done a few times already. And most of the conversations bored me to death. Also the whole... "there's good and bad people in this world and we do what we gotta to do survive, can we trust this distressed signel it might be a trap..." like wtf?! It's been done... it's so boing now.

if this's really just 1.5 hrs long, i'm definitely waiting for all episodes to release before buying...

Got my first trophy at 4:34 and my last one at 5:44. Mind you I also, took a 10 or so minute break at one point. Think I died once at most... or maybe not even that.

Most episodes are 2+ hours for me so this one stood out as being really short.

I didn't notice anything different with the animations. They were still janky as hell. They really need to improve their engine big time. It just looks really awkward during conversations.

One thing I did like with this was the letter-boxing when you enter combat, that's a nice touch. The slow-mo decapitations were also really well done. The 3 button QTE threw me off and it was even weirder that she didn't get 3 kills after it. So what was the point except trying to get you killed?

Yeah I knew they had to be
pressed in sequence
I guess it just caught me off guard not having seen that before (have no played Tales from the Borderlands). Plus i felt that there wasn't much room for thinking about it. Eventually just memorized it.

It hasn't been mentioned here yet but I loved that opening theme. Hoping there is a longer version released as an mp3.

For those interested, here's a link:

Potential Spoilers if you haven't played the game yet.

Anyone with PS4 this is just stereo audio right? Have been tweaking my 5.1 audio system and this is the first game I've played since.

I laughed.

You owe it to yourself to read books if you at all enjoy the show.

Tempted to buy this but i'll probably just wait for the bundle or a nice sale.

I'd say you are almost doing yourself a disservice by experience TWD through that awful show.

Shame about the mixed responses.

Eh, still interested in picking this up, but once all the episodes are out or the season pass is inevitably on sale. No point doing this month to month.

Yes I say wait for all episodes to be released.

I just finished episode 1, meh nothing special so far, I don`t think they will ever beat TWD season 1. Maybe they really should move on to new projects like they did with Tales of borderlands (which was amazing)

I was praying for a Kenny cameo on the
boats section, Imagine it, Kenny found a new boat and he is a pirate now, hell he even has an eye patch now

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Had nothing on the first episodes of Season 1 and 2, but it was still good. I like how Telltale manages to draw me into their stories with every game. Chopping zombies up was much more dramatic this time around, with black bars appearing during the action scenes, giving it a more cinematic look. Looking forward to the next episode. Hoping they don't get delayed.

Played it on the PC. Did anyone else experience odd stutters during movement? FRAPS showed 60 fps throughout, but it felt like the game hitched around a bit.

I liked it but probably my least favorite out of all the walking dead episodes. I give this a 6.5 or 7. I hope the next episode is more interesting.

Yeah, it stuttered around a lot for me too, and the frame rate on Steam never dropped except for a couple times to 59. I blame the engine Telltales still uses.

Will definitely pick this up on a sale.

I'm approaching the events in the comics that lead up to where this game apparently branches off.

Shortest episode award goes to that one Minecraft Story Mode episode that was 40-50 minutes long and caused huge outcry.

Finished it the day it came out. Was okay, didn't really have me crave for more though due to the same old TT formula being used (the games lose their magic after the first few titles... too predictable).

Good update, I'll wait for a flash sale.

That one balances out if you count the other path that relies on a decision you chose in the previous episode.

Haven't finished this episode yet due to a bug where you sharpen the machete that wouldn't let me sharpen it causing me to have to start the whole sequence over.

Started it at 1:22 AM and just wrapped it at 2:39 AM
Cannot believe how short that was. Quality wise it a surprising bump, story content, however, was vastly lacking.
They're on a tight release schedule relative to their history, here's hoping not every episode is as thin as this.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case, game of thrones had much longer gaps between episodes.

I'll definitely be grabbing this when it's complete, I can't just play one episode and put it down for a month.

Every Telltale game has this character stutter, Walking Dead S1 was the worst for it but it was minimal in TFTBL and TWAU.
