I'm a complete sucker for the gore on this show. It's what got me through the first season. Here's hoping for a better written second season.

I enjoyed all of season one but there were definitely some weaknesses. With a full season order, new writing staff, and less rush, I'm optimistic for season 2. If every episode could be as great as the pilot it'd be absolutely incredible.

I hope they bring back Lennie James's character (can't remember the name, the black guy from the pilot) soon
-er than they do in the comics. Also seems to me that Merle will be back soon, as The Governor I imagine

First season wasnt great outside the first episode but it also didnt destroy the show. Gave the impression like they were feeling things out and that the real quality starts with season 2. They are in a good position.

Has anything been mentioned about Tyrese?
This man. Want him to show up and start kicking ass.

I enjoyed season 1, despite how silly it felt in spots. Hopefully season 2 can improve.

After the show ended last year I picked up the first compendium for the comic. Boy are they straying from the source material. Or at least they did for the first season. Not a make-or-break thing for me by any means, but the two are extremely different.

I loved Season 1, I'm a huge zombie fan.

I really hope this takes off and the viewership keeps growing and more seasons are produced.

Yeah, just got home from work a bit ago.

AWESOME trailer, and it totally nails the tone and atmosphere they should be going for. In-fighting, desperation, and total...sadness. Loved it.

I have every confidence in S2. I think they know there were issues, and now they have time to fix everything.

Can't wait.

I enjoyed the first season. Yeah, it gradually got worse as it went on, but it was still pretty interesting, and with great production values. I'll be back for more.

"everyone, get under that cars"

uh, wouldn't it be safer to get inside cars?

Then the zombies would just surround the cars, and the survivors would eventually starve to death from being stuck.

Forget all the haters. Zombies, High Fantasy, alien invasions maybe some Roman pit fighters all make good TV! If I see another "Medical Drama" or fucking reality show that's been done 20 times over, I'll break my Plasma... Well maybe not THAT drastic, but you get the idea. So happy season 1 did well because could you imagine the tripe we would have to deal with now?

How about put a bunch of people in a run down tenement with nothing but a gallon jug of water, 2 packs of ramen and a $20 food stamp and see them "Survive" that? (Survivor Detroit?) THAT I'd watch. Ok, my rant is over. But this (Walking Dead) is good entertainment. Pray it last a few seasons.

Shit, why am I seeing so many calls to forget haters today.
All of those things don't automatically make good TV. V sucked, for example. TWD's cable gore certainly gives it the chance to set itself apart from other shows, but it hasn't done that for me yet.

Fucking love this show. This show was a smash hit till the finale for good reason, I loved it all.

I really hope he meets up with that black family from the 1st episode. They need to live :(.

Whoa, Frank Darabont appears to be out as showrunner:

EXCLUSIVE: This is a quite a bombshell - I hear that Frank Darabont, creator/executive producer/director of AMC's smash hit The Walking Dead is stepping down as showrunner of the show, which is now in production on its upcoming second season.

The news is even more surprising given the fact that Darabont was on hand for Walking Dead's Comic-Con panel just this past Friday alongside fellow executive producers Robert Kirkman, on whose graphic novel the series is based, and Gale Anne Hurd. There is speculation that Darabont might be off the show completely but I hear talks are still ongoing about him possibly staying on in a some capacity.

Darabont, who wrote and directed the pilot for AMC's zombie saga, hails from the feature world and I hear he never quite adjusted to the daily grind of producing a TV series. Last December, he considered forgoing a writing staff for Season 2 and assigning scripts to freelancers but ultimately went for the traditional writing staff model recommended by the network and tapped Glen Mazzara as an executive producer and his No. 2.

It is unclear if The Shield alum Mazzara, who has showrunning experience, would now step in to run Walking Dead. I hear that the behind-the-scenes turmoil has not affected production on the show which continues as scheduled. Season 2 of Walking Dead is slated to premiere on October 16.

In addition to huge ratings, the series has garnered awards recognition for its freshman season, including a best drama series Golden Globe nomination as well as DGA and WGA noms.

Yeah I do feel like the first season got bogged down in a lot of stereotypical melodrama so im not sure whether this will be good or bad. Not sure that the blame should be on Darabont for it or not.

I still really liked the first season but at times i was like "really?"

The first season was in a way, a pilot in itself. There'd never been a zombie television series done, and it went places a lot of main stream cable television series don't go. Not to mention I heard that they were pretty rushed. I'm expecting the series to really start to hit true form in the next two seasons.

Haha, this is so damn accurate!

There hasn't been anything good about this show since the pilot aired. Then we got five mediocre episodes, the writer's room debacle, Kirkman's promotion and further involvement, and now Darabont leaving.

I wouldn't say that there were 5 mediocre episodes, just 5 eps that didn't live up to the cinema quality promise of the premier.

I Guess from what I was told about the comic I was expecting "The Road" with zombies and what I witnessed from the show was a slightly melodramatic adventure/horror set in a zombie apocalypse.

Again, it was good. Better than most things on TV this year but that's my main gripe.

Never really got into this, but thinking about checking it out. Any legit place to watch the first season online? Hulu or something? I can find little excerpts and behind-the-scenes clips but not the actual episodes.

That season 2 trailer wasn't really good, especially considering how long it is...I was kinda bored.

Now Durabont is out?

I have a feeling that they won't be able to pull this together.

Darabont leaving makes me a bit more skeptical about season 2, but the trailer was fantastic. Here's hoping they pull it together.
