So first BG tempers his expectations out of nowhere and now Ideaman is less-impressed.

OUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

WUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

TBH I'm getting less hyped but not because of that but because I'm tired, just wanna see some games already.

Nothing to note at this point. I wish it told me what the update was for.

Ahh, I thought this was the magical update that everybody was hyping about that Nintendo announced a couple weeks ago.

Since when is Ideaman not-impressed by the hardware? He didn't give that impression before. :(

He's always tried to temper expectations, since the very beginning. What he said today falls in line with what he's said before.

edit: I didn't copy "temper" and "expectations" from Pyro, I swear.

What if, and this is a big what if, they're doing this purposely so we'll be more surprised by what we see?

hahahaha yea right

My hype has been declining.

I need to see some software. Sheeeeeit.
Indeed. This seems to have been quite a gloomy day, although there wasn't really any concrete news behind such gloom. But games are a cure-all. Issues of third-party politics, copycat competitors, the hardware e-peen measuring contest.. all seem downright insignificant when there are Nintendo games to be played. :-)

No no no.. in this case, I think he's speaking of his sources' "not impressed, not depressed" feelings on the hardware - not his own feelings.

Either way it doesn't sound good. Hearing about devs more focused on the Upad sounds like bad news for the graphics. I know that may sound kind of backwards, but I don't want to feel completely outdated in 2014.

Since I have PC for amazing graphical power, I honestly don't care if the Wii U isn't a monster, I just want my Nintendo games in HD so they look better on my Plasma, simple as that.

Yup looking forward to E3, but I'm not hyped as of now.

I'm playing Brawl right now so I can't wait for the next Smash Bros game. :)

BG and Ideaman are killing me. I have no idea what to expect.

Monkey, get that punch here, I'm gonna drink the whole thing!

Once again, Nintendo GAF takes innocent comments and completely blows the negative side completely out of proportion...

I mean, who knows???

IdeaMan's sources might be very picky and proficient developers.

They "aren't impressed" according to IdeaMan but they aren't "disappointed" with the final kits.

To me, that's nothing groundbreaking either way.

If they were disappointed, it might be reason to be concerned.

:lol at the most of you.

We are about to be three weeks away, yet here you all are still riding the roller coaster that is this thread.

Three weeks. THREE WEEKS. That's nothing. Stop worrying about the highs and/or lows and focus on the fact that our destination is almost here. In the end all that matters is what is there, not what got us there.

What the hell are we supposed to do, then!?
  • ignore wiiu thread
  • take your mind off Nintendo Conference
  • lower hype to min
  • stop believing every word that spreads here
  • go outside and keep yourself busy
  • marathon dr.who, arrested dev, the simpsons, pokemon, etc

Next stop: E3! All aboard the hype train.

I might as well put my own comparative scale on this whole console generation business:

360------wiiU---ps4-xbx3

This is mainly based on the 7 year(!) differance between 360 and wiiU while the other two boxes only have a extra year of of newer technology to work with. Ps4 could be a unit closer to WiiU, imo. Also, I guesstimate the B.O.M. of the three would be $275, $375 and $425 respectively.

Imagine Nintendo just has NSMB and Pikminf or launch as first party games, and nothing much in the launch window aside from smaller titles. And it launches at 349.99. And only 1 tablet use at once. And online is missing some features.

Is Pikminf a prequel to the first two games? Sign me up! :p

I'm just not ready for the threads about how disappointing the Wii U was. It's gonna totally kill my buzz after seeing Metroid in HD.

Who gives a shit about what console graphics whores (lol) think? What we should be concerned about are the games, how much Nintendo will be able to differentiate itself from the competition through other means with the new controller and their online piece.

Most of us just wanted a solid system that is powerful enough to get downscaled ports from the next MS and Sony platforms later in its life cycle.

Last time I checked, BG and others have confirmed the above many times in these threads. What's with the crying all of a sudden?

That very well could happen.......................(thanks the 3DS' botched launch)...................BEFORE.

-299$
- Fully Online Capable
- One DRC Support
- New Super Mario Bros Mii
- Pikmin 3
- One HD Collection
- Darksiders II
- Batman: Arkham City GOTY Edition
- Assassin's Creed III
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
- Possibly more.

I mean, for someone who only buys Nintendo console, this would be an amazing launch line-up.
