The Witcher 3 PS4 gameplay

Hey guys. My local shop in NYC has it already. Do you think I would like this game if I hate crafting and RPG mechanics? I just want to enjoy graphics and hack and slash. Can I do this or will I get overwhelmed with stats? Thanks!

I'm like you. I just like production values and a slick vision combined really well into a good experience. I don't subscribe to choose your own adventure investments generally. So with that said, the scores are really high on W3 and reviews say it is rather accessible. I'm buying it, even though I found W2 a bit tedious.

Thanks. I might get it today then. My only concern is that it would require me to invest time in learning it's RPG mechanics like crafting or card games etc. I would like to ignore all of that If possible and enjoy the story and the graphics.

I just heard on the game informer podcast that in the easiest difficulty you don't have to worry about any of that crafting bullcrap so that made me really wanna get it.

Gwent, that cardgame, is 100% optional!

I ignored stats and potions in almost all of W2 and apparently W3 is even less complex, so if you decide to get it I hope you enjoy the big world and you shouldn't get stuck anywhere over not paying attention to stats, as it didn't even happen to me on W2 Easy. That's my guess, so feel free to double check before buying and let me know!

You guys are so mean! Posting your copies and all that! I have to wait until the end of December at the earliest to play this game.

Nah, I'm cool. The wait is agonizing though.

It actually looks like it could be a really fun side game, as long as the cards you can collect aren't just generic upgrades over the basic stuff. If it's done well, it will be the first time I care at all about any side game.

Can't remember the last game i was this hyped for in a franchise i've never played. Use to play a lot of Bioware RPGs and could use a substitute since their games usually are kind of crap nowadays. Everyone i've talked to about Witcher 1/2 have high praises for it so i have pretty high expectations on Witcher 3.

Just a heads up there are a couple of places in NYC that have the game already. Got mine yesterday, I just recommend that you call first. Seems like the have been flying off the shelves.

I found TW2 boring as all fuck and Im buying this one, seems more fun.

only thing im sad about at the downgrade is the sea :( those waves looked amazing in the trailers and now its nothing special

my boat got attacked and it went down in the middle of the ocean :p pretty cool and scary

Please tell me there is a giant Kraken or some other sort of sea dwelling monstrosity. That would be the capstone for this game.

No please I'm a giant wuss when it comes to deep see creatures even in games where there isn't carnivorous sea life like GTA 4 you couldn't even go underwater but swimming made my heart beat faster and made me paranoid.

The ocean is actually my greatest fear in real life, but it has to be really well done in order to bother me in a game. Take GTA V, for instance. While being the best water I have ever seen, it absolutely scares the shit out of me with the sharks and waves. I can only imagine exploring on that tiny little sail boat and coming up on some giant sea monster rising out of the water in TW3. It would be both amazing and terrifying.

It would be pretty cool but anything that suddenly attacks or creeps up on you just scares me. Also GTA 5 doesn't scare me nearly as much because of one simple thing sharks show up on the mini map it's like real life I refuse to go in the ocean with less than 2 people but I would go in a shark cage no problem because I know they are there.

How fucking cool is this ?!

yeah, i was actually kinda touched by the note... it says the developers thank you for purchasing the game and that you spent your hard-earned money on it. and then, because you bought it, you are entitled to the 16 free dlc packs.

even though i knew the note would be in here, because it was posted some days ago when the arabic version was already sold, it was just such a nice thing to find it in there.

just think about it... you get the game, the note, the ost on an extra disc, one small manual for the controls and one for basic witcher-background stuff and the map...all of that in the standard edition of the game. you rarely get this kind of treatment nowadays.
it just fits perfectly into this whole for-the-fans-vibe, the game oozes. cd project red just did an awesome job with it. from announcement until release.

Checked my local MediaMarkt. as per usual, they'll be sticking to the street date, i suppose.
(they didn't even break it for low-profile releases like Borderlands THC)

I think it's time to stop frequenting the thread. Not because I'm afraid people will spoil, but because I am INCREDIBLY jealous/salty at people getting the game early and need to bring my salt elsewhere.
