The Witcher season 2 trailer. Coming December 17th, 2021

Looks awesome.

While the first season was a bit of a mess, still liked it. This actually looks more coherent.
 
The part where Ciri is training in Kaer Morhen are some of my favorite parts of the books. I hope this season will be good.
 
ugh, my biggest fear was they make this more and more about Ciri, easily the worst parts of the book and show so far
 
Cool, now I know when to resubscribe to netflix. I figure this season will end with the council and all that craziness. They can easily pad out the training and throw in some actual witching (which is sooooooo sparse in the actual books) and the next couple books can actually be collapsed into season 3 with little effort.
 
It still has that weird fake look.
But otherwise seems fun, will definitely check it out when it launches.

I feel thats due to how close in they always keep the camera punched, and constantly using a very shallow lens, like they are trying to hide how small and cheap their sets are. Every scene feels like its filmed in the same 10 x 10 studio space redressed and extended with CG. I dont blame them for not having the biggest budget, and accept it for what it is.

Yeah I think that's part of it, specially the extended with CG part.
I always expected the more magical stuff to look fake, but it's weird how sometimes they are just talking in a regular room or forest and the fakeness just stands out: The set looks like a set, the costumes like costumes.
Like here, even in the first shot of the trailer it just stands out how fake the background looks and how obviously they are lighting their faces with some LEDS or something.

Other shows like Vikings, The last Kingdom or not to mention GOT just sell the illusion better. But I understand it's probably more related to budget than anything else. I still wish Netflix released less original stuff but put more money into each project.
 
The Last Kingdom inherited a huge medieval backlot built for another show in Hungary, and they have all other locations they need nearby. It must be really cheap to make compared to The Witcher and by now they have 5 years of experience working there. The Witcher is actually using bigger facilities and more locations in Hungary.
 
Yep, looks good 👍 Really enjoyed season one, and this one looks to build on that solid platform, and broaden the world of the show more to include more stuff fans of the games will recognise.

With that said, I thought she was a great character in the games, so hopefully they do right by her.
 
I don't fucking care what they gotta pay to do it, this music must play in the background during Kaer Morhen scenes.

 
Cautiously optimistic, the Kaer Morhen storyline in the book was good and they already said no more time jump bs. Cavill and Jaskier carried the first season hard, hope there is more of them here
