No, we just want it to be good and its not. Mulder is going from extreme to extreme based upon nothing really. Scully is just wooden and deadpan about everything. Mulder isn't explaining things solely as a plot device to keep some sort of suspense. Its cheap, its not good.

I think that's what they're setting up. All of the crazy alien shit Mulder and Skully encountered was either part of a bigger conspiracy and/or experiments done by the human conspirators based on alien tech from Area 51.

I'm willing to overlook how bad this episode has been because it's a season opener after a multi-year hiatus. They need to throw a lot at the viewer in a short amount of time in order for the other episodes to not also be full of this terrible pacing.
