Lol, that little leap at the end.
I'm pretty sure "You forget I'm immortal" was a reference to Clyde Bruckman telling Scully "you don't" after she asked him how she dies.
Written by Darin Morgan, too.
Btw this is how you insert an iconic line into the story.
Monster: "Even though this has been a trying time for me, I'm glad to have meet you."What did Guy say to Mulder at the end? DVR kicked in and changed the channel between the like last minute before "Likewise" and "I want to believe."
It's actually in a later season as well. Doesn't death pass her by? Can't remember the episode.
Tithonus is the ep.
A guy was passed over by death and lived for over a hundred years until he became weary of life. He "tracked" death by following people he could sense were about to die.
In the end he watched for death to take Scully and took her place, so Scully missed death like he did, so death will not look for her again.
That episode is probably in the Top 10 for the series.
Yep. People will want to let it sink in before making such a claim but as someone who recently watched all nine seasons, there is little doubt in my mind that it is up there.

Jack Hardy. The tombstone Guy Mann is standing in front of is for the late Jack Hardy, an assistant director on two Chris Carter series—Millennium and The Lone Gunmen. He held the same position on the second X-Files movie, I Want to Believe. Julie Ng, who is working on the behind-the-scenes features for the season ten X-Files blu-ray, told me that Hardy was an especially beloved member of the Vancouver film community.
Welllll Clyde Bruckman also told Scully she never dies and he saw how everyone dies. I'm sure it's more of a call back to that episode, because Darin wrote that one too.
Ha, I legit spent 2 minutes on that, do with it as you wish!Is this yours? Can I steal it?
http://www.vulture.com/2016/02/x-files-easter-eggs-weremonster.html# Thought this should be pointed out.
It's definitely a reference to "Clyde" but we were talking about how it's also brought up/reinforced in "Tithonus".
This "season" of X-Files is half over!
And it's already had more great episodes than any season since 4.
Glen's episode looks promising even if it doesn't look like the straight sequel to Home I'd been hoping for.
Who expected the return of the red speedo tonight? I didn't. It made me laugh a lot though. That shot of Mulder in the red speedo
It seems that way from the previews, butIs it going to be more of a scary/supernatural episode? It kind of looks that way.
this was so great
ONLY 3 LEFT, SHIT
don't know the situation concerning more seasons, but they have to be coming!
Awesome episode. So great. I'd love if they did the X-Files like those British series that film just a handful of episodes every year or two. I'd take six episodes a year of quality stuff like this gladly.
Yup. A limited run packed with good writing talent is what I want to see. Something to keep the actors interested as well. I would like to see it bumped to 8 though.
