that eps is such fucking trash. why is mulder in it again? lol.. go back to bed x-files. come back when you get some talented writers.

Well, it was a clusterfuck of a finale but I liked it, except for the character assassination of Monica Reyes.

And we still don't know why the Syndicate spoke about colonization to each other, even behind closed doors.

Hell, why was Cancer Man missiled? If the conspiracy was still functioning and was fully human, and apparently saved him and gave him access to the "button" to activate all this, what was the point of trying to kill him?

Hell, who the hell were the super-soldiers we actually saw infiltrating the already human conspiracy? Why would the conspiracy engineer these things to infiltrate themselves?

God, this makes no sense the more I think about it.

TVLINE | Let’s say the planets don’t align and there are no movies and no more seasons — are you OK with ending the series on that note?
I can tell you this: Fox owns this show. I can’t imagine, with the ratings that we’ve got and the way we ended this season, that there won’t be more X-Files. They will find a way to get that done. Because I spoke about it briefly with [Fox CEO] Dana Walden today, so there’s an appetite there and… a chance certainly to find how we’re gonna get ourselves off this precipice.

SPOILERS: X-Files Creator Chris Carter on That Cliffhanger Ending, a Lingering Mulder Mystery and the Latest on Season 11

man you really have a pretty shitty extermination plan if Sculley can undo it in like 20 minutes. James Bond villains have been more successful.

One good episode, one decent episode, two bad episodes, and two REALLY bad episodes. Yup, its a season of The X-Files

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.

I don't think story time was 20 mins. After all, Mulder and Miller reached Spartanburg, SC by driving from Washington D.C., so that'd be like... a day's drive?

Wonder why the last episode said tonight "This is the End"

CSM's terrorist plot + final episode of the "season."

i really only like 3 episodes... i wish they would have done this 10 years ago...

also damn... at cancermans face..😳

X-file more like ZZZ-files, am i right?

That was garbage. If it comes back next year kill Carter off, and just do monster/mystery of the week.

Good news: All of the episodes of S10 that weren't written by Carter were, at the very least, decent.

Bad news: Carter wrote half the episodes. And judging by post-episode interviews, he seems to think he did an awesome job, despite the fact that the finale was one of the most incoherent hours of TV I've ever sat through, narrowly beating out the other two episodes he wrote this season.

Why did it end like this? Did it really need to end like this? If there's a conspiracy to be unearthed it's this season finale. Why you do this? :(

I've got no other network TV show to look forward to let alone a reason to look forward to Mondays anymore. Back to the grind of life without x-files.

That was awful.

Episode 3 with the lizard man was the only good episode of this season.
It was really fucking good though.
More of that, less of what ever the fuck this was.

I didn't like this episode. It felt like it was building up to something throughout, and it turns out that their entire motive all along was to just 'start anew again'. Seriously? That's the shadow government's grand plan? And here I thought there was an alien intelligence at work to create a hybrid species.

And who was piloting that ship at the end? They made it clear that humans had access to the alien replicas. It's probably a former FBI agent piloting it, or something underwhelming.

I love you Joel McHale but every episode you were in this season was confusing as hell.

There's something to be said for the fact that the best episode of this season was about garbage.

I'm really confused, maybe should've paid more attention instead of being on the computer. I'll have to rewatch this ep.

Silly cliffhanger.

In yet another twist, this will turn out to be a way for everyone to actually get implanted with alien DNA when for some reason they couldn't previously, because the alien colonization story will turn out to have been true or something.

Pretty goofy finale. On paper there was some good stuff but the execution wasn't good. Although Duchovny gave his best, most Mulder-like performance. So there's that.

I really hope they hire some directors for next season (we know it's coming) because that was the biggest weakness. James Wong can stay as director, though; Founders Muration was pretty stylish. The mythology episodes desperately need a Bowman or Nutter. Can't believe this is the same Carter who directed Triangle and Duane Barry.

is it just me or do they constantly repeat Agent Einstein's name while talking to her?
Yeah that and 'Monica' when Scully was talking to her. Whenever I'm talking to someone all by myself, I never address them by name beyond an initial hello. Seemed very weird to me.

Overall I actually liked the episode. I guess I don't need much like a lot of you but I found it to be pretty well done. Not a fan of the cliffhanger ending but kind of expected it. I thought Ciggy played his part quite well and
wtf at him pulling off his nose
. Geez.

So the mythology episodes blew but I enjoyed everything else. Shitty finale.

It's hard to imagine that this is the same guy who wrote and directed The Post Modern Prometheus.

Totally should have been Crycek.

This episode was a hot mess. Like, one of the worst eps I've seen. It went from 0 to 60 in no time at all.

"Hey, did you know that the small pox -and everybody's dead."

Like, they crammed in a lot of stuff and it all happened within minutes on the show.

Overall this season has been disappointing.

Even partway through season 7 on the show really starts to dive. It had been so long, and doing a rewatch of early X-Files, had me thinking, wow, it would be great if the show came back.

Well, it's back, and it's continued on from seasons 8 and 9.

So, cool. I wondered what it would be like to have more X-Files, and now I know.

I missed the last 4 minutes. Can I get a synopsis?

I wonder how they go back to monster of the week after that.

"So uh yeah the Illuminati just tried to murder 7 billion people (and a billion people probably DID die), thousands of people saw alien space ships, everyone now has alien DNA and both of you vanished for 3 months, but Mulder and Sculley I need you guys to go to Topeka, Kansas to investigate reports of a vampire chicken."

Did you ever see Millennium season 3? Carter has done it before!

I don't think I've ever been this mad at a show before. Carter has somehow ascended into higher tier of terrible writing. That last scene....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

As CSM said, he changed the timetable. Colonisation is still very possible at this point.

Intriguing stuff, but overall, not a great episode.
It felt like it was rushing to finish and needed to be longer, but had maybe 5 minutes of actual interesting plot to.

Get Carter away from the writing please. His episodes were not good, and this... welp, it was an episode of tv...

I'm not shitting you, this will happen.

Sneak Peak of Scene 1, Episode 1, Season 11

Mulder: "I've seen things Scully. My need to believe and uncover the Truth is greater than ever"

Scully: "I don't know Mulder. How can you say that with no emperical proof"

Mulder: "What about those big fuck off spaceships at the end of the last episode"?

Scully: "Well honestly Mulder they could have been anything. Group hallucination brought on by the fever of that virus that was proved to be a mutation of the common cold is most likely. Wait a sec, I'm getting a call coming through from Skinner about a poultry with sharp teeth thats been linked to four deaths. We gotta go"

Finale was dumb, but I still had fun watching it. I'm glad the show came back, I hope they do another round (I think it's a given, though who knows how soon), but someone needs to get in there and mitigate Chris Carter. He's the George Lucas of The X-Files for real. The 3 episodes he isn't a credited writer on were the better 3 by FAR.

Sigh. The X-Files could still be worthwhile if everyone put a little more effort into it and they somehow got rid of Carter but neither is gonna happen. The George Lucas comparisons are spot-on.

I feel like the dialogue gained sentience, walked out of my TV, picked up a bat, hit me in the shin, waited for me to keel over into the fetal position and beat me for 45 minutes.
