I can see where people might have gotten the name Xbox 360 from looking at it.

In my opinion, it looks pretty cool, but I think it's an awful design. Those "handles" just seem like a waste of space.

attachable faceplate have to be the good awnser. what we are seeing now might be when there's no faceplates attached. But the handles...

no it isn't the real design.

Yes, the next Xbox will likely have 2 controllerf ports, but their main function won't be the normal gamepads, I reckon. Gamepads will be going wireless next generation.

The pic is most likely from a meeting with developers/publishers/"partners," perhaps at Microsoft meeting area at GDC. The unit is a concept design, to give attendees a sense of direction for the XB2 design.

It's pretty small to be a XDK or a prototype, though. Or perhaps that just means the final unit will be tiny

But yeah, it certainly doesn't look final.

For what it's worth my friend Alan who works at Studio Search ( a gaming company recruiter ) Said he saw the XBOX protype behind closed doors at GDC, all he told me was it's thin, and silver, that thing is silver, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's thin.
