I can ace Basic for the most part and do ok on Expert. Ultimate scares me though!
Fun game, an improvement from the last one.
Crisis Core - The Price of Freedom
It just lets you get them earlier.
Honestly, character unlocks are such a non-issue in this game.
When you get the gems you can pick your favorites from a pool and that's only if you haven't picked them from the large selection at the start of the game already.
I've done it on a couple FMS songs. All critical and one/two greats a dozen times or so on BMS songs. Can anyone get perfect chain on Ultimate? If so I bow down before you!
Ultimate is impossible for me!
It bugs me to hell and back that they renamed this song. "We Have Arrived" sounds infinitely better. My god is the Type-O music amazing, especially We Have Come!
So hype for the game!
..so you're gonna kill your CirclePad instead? (knock on wood)
Didn't want to kill my touch screen like I did for EBA/Ouendan, so I picked this up since it added in button controls.
Pretty impressed so far, decent song selection. DLC isn't priced too bad either.

Yo, what's the hardest song in the game? I wanna try it out!

Battle with Seymour is up there too. It's a choice between Force Your Way, Crazy Chocobo, Final Battle (FFX), and The Castle.

Yeah, the arrows are challenging especially when they're all over the place with different directions. So played the demo again tonight while waiting for the full game.
When doing say Expert (or Ultimate I guess), do any of yous find yourself thrown off by the diagonal directions? I am pretty confident I could have gotten a perfect chain (not perfect crit but I rarely get that on basic anyway lol) on One Winged Angel if not for a diagonal in the middle of the song that threw me right off.

Wait, you got One Winged Angel in your demo? I got JENOVA (AC version) and Edgar and Sabin's Theme.
Anyway, unlocked Edge, thus making an entire FFIV team. That's enough for tonight.
FUCK, I mean JENOVA, sorry. Tired here.
Does your leader equal what is summoned?
Is it easier to play music/rhythm games like this being musically inclined?
Or is this more about memorization than feeling the rhythm?
Does your leader equal what is summoned?
Yes. What the summon is is listed on the character sheet. My leader is Cecil, so I always get Odin.
I think it is definitely easier for stages with weird rhythms or stuff like that. Back beats and EMS stages with their weird patterns have never been too difficult for me.
Yes if you hit all the notes in the summon sequence. I always use Zidane so I always get Ifrit, for example.
I think if you fail you summon a weak Chocobo.

Really looking forward to picking this up later. I wanted to get some warm-up in with the original but, well, Hyrule Warriors killed any chances of that happening. Good to see you guys set up a FC list for VS.

That's cool. I can't clap to a song without keeping beat so it's challenging playing some of these Ultimate songs!I think it is definitely easier for stages with weird rhythms or stuff like that. Back beats and EMS stages with their weird patterns have never been too difficult for me.
Even though I may not be musically talented, being familiar with the songs do help a bit.err iunno about musical talent heh. Not very familiar with rhythm games but I do like playing them.
I've self taught myself piano for a couple years. I'm not good by any standard but I do know some FF songs like the Piano Collection versions of To Zanarkand, Aerith and Tifa's themes, this song from FFVIII (name escapes me), FFIV's Theme of Love...
Yeah, some songs are crazy. I've been even trying haudoken movements to try anything to hit those directional inputs.I'm starting to think certain songs on Ultimate just aren't suited for the circle pad. War: The White Weapon had times where it didn't seem like it wanted to register my input, though MAYBE it's because of me still having the button pressed down because of how fast the game is making me switch from button pressing to circle pad inputting.

I challenge anyone to beat Under the Weight Ultimate. Stuff is as hard as the real fight.
