Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Plot Complete, Development Underway

I wish they released queens blood as a standalone game.

I was addicted to that in Rebirth. I played it for hours when I needed a break from hack-and-slash.

This is 100% going to be a PS6 game. I would even doubt it is going to be a cross-gen. The fact that they confirmed to have the ship travel seamless across the entire map, makes me believe they will not make it for PS5.

It'll come out before the PS6 does. I don't think they want to spend that long on it.

Part 2 came out in less then 4 years. Part 3 is releasing before PS6 is out and no way in hell SE wants a big budgeted game like this on a console that sold like 5M consoles.

Seems like I started Rebirth just in time. I imagine I'll be close to finishing it by the time part 3 drops.

Nah if it's a 2028 game it will be cross-gen.

But I think it can release in 2027 without the UE5 switch.

FFVII is one of my all time favorites, but I never wanted a remake. All I ever asked for was a new translation/localization from scratch. That said, I assumed the remakes would probably be good. And I was right. Rebirth wasn't perfect, but damn if it wasn't the closest thing we've got to a classic golden age Square JRPG updated to the modern era. Whenever part 3 is ready, I'm there on day 1. (Edit: I thought this was a new thread, I'm scared to go back through the old posts to see if I already posted that same exact shit almost a year ago :messenger_hushed:)

Saw a quote from Nomura that development of Part 3 is going smoothly but no new news yet.

I think there's a chance we might see a formal announcement at Sony's next SoP...
This is good news. Despite some issues, I really enjoyed Rebirth and will be there Day 1 (unless there are some major issues) for Part 3.

Late 2027 I think is the target here, which lines up with the 30th Anniversary of the original.

But if they made the switch to UE5 then I think it's a 2028 game.

It could also be a 2027 game with the UE5 switch, but they'd need to have made the decision before Rebirth released.

I hope the formula from Rebirth is gone in this game. It was just a mini-game simulator with smaller hubs connected. They could have gone open world, but they didn't. I could not even finish that game.

I loved every aspect of Rebirth (except that part with the boxes in the mansion). My GOTY 2024 by far. I don't know why people still cry because they divided the game in 3 parts, with such quality I would be happy to pay even for more parts.

My expectation for the ending is much like how the first two parts played out. The story will be 95% identical but they'll throw some stuff in their to make you question reality and they won't provide any closure at all and in the end we will all say "wait... that's how they resolved this? That's it? What was the point of even messing with the lore/timeline in the first place?"

I still need to play rebirth but I really have a lot of issues with remake and its padding, ended up hating the game overall. Loved the combat though. I am interested to see where the story goes.

95% is being really generous, don't you think?

To me it seemed pretty obvious that the Whispers/etc are mainly there as a plot device to change aspects of the story as they pleased.

I do think the ending will be different. Disney-fying it for sure.

so we are looking at other 5 more years of development?

Rebirth only took them 3 years (they spent a year doing the DLC and upgrading Unreal Engine)

Part 3 should be shorter dev time than that, provided they stuck with the same version of Unreal.

I would say the earliest would be Holidays 2026 but there is some appeal in releasing it on the 30th Anniversary (Jan 30, 2027)

Right there with you, chapter 11 felt like a different, untested game. I enjoyed every bit of the rest of the game despite a bit of fatigue a nice break helped mitigate. Looking forward to part 3 and glad to hear the development is proceeding well - I think we can expect 2037 or 2028 given they are sticking with the same engine and not reinventing the wheel with gameplay mechanics. Though I do hope they trend back toward combat from Remake, it was a little slower and more strategic than Rebirth.

I feel like you'd kinda have hoped that the plot was done back when the trilogy was started... else we're just making it up as we go along? The plus side is I guess we can react to feedback, and holy shit Chadley needs to be nuked off the face of the planet in part 3.

Still, pretty hyped and looking forward to it, the gameplay, and music are amazing in P1 & P2.

Most likely they had a framework of how the story will go in each game and react to feedback from each title, 100% I feel they will reduce the minigames in the next title,

ue5 port of integrate release as cross platform ps5/6 around launch. Pt 3 ps6 only around 2029.

Some point toward late gen ps6 / early ps7 we will get a three game complete package running in ue6

I am wondering if they are going to change the Aerith bit or not.

Her presence (in some form) will most certainly be a big part still.

Which would be a shame, as this is a big part of what made the original game special, and emotional.

I didn't get the same feeling this time around.

At this point most of you know the direction these "remake" are going so if you still pissed at changes then that mostly on you.

I personally super excited since I really liked both the Remake and Rebirth.

Because we have the same knowledge Cloud has and to us it's uncertain whether she's even dead.
