They asked their customers what they wanted to see in the game, listened to the responses, and made changes to the game. This very simple, customer friendly action has been re-framed in just about every way possible at this point. If more devs took this approach - asking and delivering what players want instead of telling us what we 'should' want - there would be a lot less games failing.

I don't expect bloggers like the person who wrote this article to understand the simple concept of 'gamers are your customers, not your enemies', but I do appreciate seeing gaming companies gradually coming back to this fact.

It's liberalism 101, particularly the identity-politics-heavy liberalism that has taken over in the past 15-20 years. They learned that they can corrupt from the inside, so they move into spaces that they don't like, and like a cancer or a parasite, they take root and start to grow. Soon they are in control and have made fundamental changes to whatever it is they didn't like.

Look at how much the troon contingent has taken over feminism. Classic feminists like JK Rowling are in the minority, and are being crucified for not supporting the troon agenda.

Gaming is no different, but at least here, the majority of gamers are starting to push back.

Eve from Stellar Blade to these people was from a "bygone era", meaning something we need to move past...so yeah you're robbing the audience through implication.

All that matters is CI Games take the improvements made with the updates for their 1st game, and use that to make a better sequel.

exactly, that "or don't" is the most important part. I'm literally able to just play my backlog until the end of time if these newer game doesn't pull their weight.

I have no problem never buying your shitty game ever again or just completely quit buying new games in general

Fun fact: I know people from both studios, Hexworks and one of the Larian studios are in my hometown. I had drinks with people from both teams at the same time and there isn't culture (or any kind of) wars issues between them, like in any company all studios have people with all kind of political views (including some very, very, very rare case of some crazy of somewhat extremist idiot of any side).

Like with most other big and small gamedev studios most people are normal and smart people passionate for making games and there's friendship and brotherhood among the different gamedev teams. Some people moved from a team to another, or viceversa, or worked together before in a third company, or know each other from industry meet ups.
