TheGamer: Target and Walmart also pulling Xbox stock

Yeah, I remember when they removed all PS4 stuff right before PS5 came out. Oh wait...
But the PS4 was a well-selling console, while the XSX isn't a bestseller.
It is possible, that MS gave up this generation and that they'll launch a new xbox next year.
Dunno..
Let's hope, that MS comes back next year with Fable, Halo, Forza Horizon, Gears and an awesome new Xbox console:messenger_smiling:

2027 will be the next console, and on top of that all those titles you mention are headed Sony's way...

Walmart and Target will show you on their websites what is available for pickup from the store. My local target and Walmart both seem to be carrying stock of consoles, games and accessories. Not a lot, but it is still there.
I'm in Chicago and there is no option in the Target app to be able to purchase a Series X for pickup locally or for shipping. Interestingly it's still listed at $599. There are still 4 stores nearby with limited Series S 512 GB stock and it's still available for shipping at the "old" $379 price. We'll see for holiday if stock picks back up or of they're draining the remaining inventory. I'd bet they won't even have a Black Friday clearance event for them if they don't have the stock. This leaves Best Buy and GameStop as the American holdouts? I miss the Microsoft store at 600 N Michigan with the giant screen Kinect setup and all the Xbox and Surface stock on display. (Also the giant Virgin Records store). We'll never see that again.

I sincerely hope some posts here are just from people that are trolling hard, because the alternative is scary

Never in the history of mankind a product has been pulled from shelves on purpose two years before the "supposed" next one is released

It's just absurd to even think about it

My kingdom for fees for playing online multiplayer.

They could have gained market share by removing the multiplayer fee this gen, and slowly appeal to PC gamers. I would argue that PS+ is more seen as the pass for the monthly, fairly premium games. With Nintendo, it's $20 bucks who gives a shit.

So part of the worm turning is when they tried to charge more for Xbox live, which they had to walk back. Games with Gold was hilariously bad at that moment as well. They signaled they were never going to make a pro-user step from that point forward.

Soon to be followed by Bestbuy in the coming days/weeks....

Hmm...I'd wait until we hear about this being more widespread.

If they're nowhere to be found during the holidays, then that's a good indicator that they're severely limiting production. It certainly wouldn't be because they're flying off shelves lol

I checked my local Target online. 1 Xbox Series S is available and a handful of popular games with 1 copy available in store. It's not completely gone but it does not look good.

Okay well most of those still had some Wii U stuff right before Switch came out. It must be doing so terrible, worse than Wii U.

How stupid Xbox is... I was almost certain to buy their console for Hi-Fi Rush, Hellblade, STALKER, and other IPs. But since they came to PS5... Well, no more.

I was curious so I did the same thing. My go to target has:
  • No consoles at all
  • Seems like plenty of controllers
    • It only showed me special controllers but if I searched for the regular colors it showed they had anywhere from 1-8 of most colors in stock
  • A handful of games mostly stuff like Madden or NBA with no game having anything more then "Limited Stock"

Checked my local stores. There is nothing available for pickup at Target, but there are some at Walmart.

The story is based on some Reddit posts, so I'm going to wait to hear more, but it sounds to me like they have turned the tap off and are letting the remaining water drain out of the tub.

looking at older articles
I found out that PSvita discontinued in 2019
For a flopped handheld that was a long time
WiiU is the closest to a fast kill in that they stopped making the hardware in Jan 2017 and the Switch came out in March of the same year.
It actually discontinued in November 2016, switch is sort of win or go home situation

This forum can't get any more retarded at this point.

Xbox is DEAD, next device will be niche probably limited to their online store.

Accept & move on.

"Accept & move on"

Mate... I'm not even a fanboy of any console, why would I move on? It's a forum, it's not that serious.

My comment seems to have pulled so many people out of their armchairs on a Sunday cause they can't handle my opinion. 😂

My guess is Microsoft is limiting the current hardware and will now focus on the Next Xbox rumoured for 2027.
Possibly.

Rumours like these are probably started by haters, carried by fools and believed by idiots.

Yes GwG was basically a meme for how awful and lame the games were, they were clearly making it shitty to get people to spend more on GP.

Just checked Target.com, no series x showing up for me.

Looks like S SneakersSO is right on the money again.

Anyone know of a 3d printing service that can do physical models of the xbox executives heads?
For memorabilia of course, not to put up on pikes outside my front door on Halloween to celebrate victory or anything of that sort.
Just so we're clear.

Alright - but what's the rationale then for companies like Costco or Sams clearancing these systems? Why not send back for this "credit"? What is Microsoft doing with these returned items? ET-ing them?

Each store has a distinct relationship with the supplier and have different people that make different decisions. Coscto is a high-volume "warehouse" that might have decided to discharge all the consoles off the floor where from where they stand than to spend employees time packing them on pallets to send back...or who knows why.

Console fanboys are getting as bad as K-pop stans and we already know how unhinged they are. Lol

My local target has taken Xbox out of the aisles. Sony and Nintendo each have an aisle with two showcases, one on the right and left. The Xbox section has been moved to a small glass case where hardware, games, and controllers share the same cabinet. Pretty Grim. I think this is the final resting place for Xbox and if and when that cabinet gets cleared that's it for Xbox at Target.

I don't know what is more sad seeing the demise of Xbox slowly dying or how many gaffers are celebrating...
Because of lie after lie from xbox/microsoft management, because of the intellectually dishonest responses to every single asinine decision that some online sycophants cant help from spewing.
The way some of these sycophants insist/imply that sony/nintendo/whooever are run by complete retards without a vision while insisting that microsoft/phil has things completely figured out.....in spite of their competition running circles around them for years now.

Do you even live in the States? A quick search at Target would tell you how true this is. Keep coping though, your platform is dead.

Personally feel it's a big shame , really disappointed and it should have been avoided years ago but some felt the need to boot lick a millionaire phoney executive and his team instead.

Don't worry Jez, they are just making space for the "new console" that it's coming 2027

They didnt even bother to lower pricing?

Lame.

I genuinely would want a series X for sub $300 this holiday season if funds were available.
