Judging Epic from a purely functional view: where are the forums? Where can I read about updates? All those billions and they can't just copy Steam?
Don't give a shit about whatever vendetta the gaming community has with Epic but their store is simply inadequate compared to Steam.
The problem is Fortnite was generating a bazillion dollars even before it was on the store. They could ditch the store and go back to just having the game on a launcher and they'd actually make more money than they do now.Thats some blurry numbers then, since fortnite is on the store and generates a bazillion dollars an hour. Somehow fortnite revenues don't count?

Epic realized they had a real problem on their hands: they went from making almost all of their money from Unreal Engine to making 30 times as much from Fortnite alone. On one hand that's a blessing, since it allowed them to hire more people, buy studios and expand their business. But it's also a curse, since they are now completely dependent on Fortnite. They simply can't sustain themselves at their current size without it, so they're desperately looking for other ways of making money before Fortnite starts declining. That's the only reason the EGS exists. It needs to be profitable independently from Fortnite, that's the entire point.
One thing that amuses me is that all the people who buy games on EGS come to the Steam forums when they need help.I got 4 free games on EPIC store and i ended up buying them on steam due to be next to impossible to use mods with EPIC.
The lack of basic features still after so many years is pathetic
Epic can f***k off .
not when you are pc gamer and are use to all the benefits of steam. Steam is a platform .. not just a store.Store waring is the funniest
It’s not profitable because they don’t charge enough for even maintenance, not to mention the money for exclusives or store improvements.Interesting to hear it’s not profitable. I guess it’s entirely due to user base size.
Gog is my go to alongside steam. It's ridiculous because GOG can do it and they presumably have a lot less money to spend.
Or if they want to use VR it’s going to be SteamVR.One thing that amuses me is that all the people who buy games on EGS come to the Steam forums when they need help.
Also you know. You being able to ignore the client completely and still play their games with no hassles.Gog is my go to alongside steam.
They have a fraction of Epics money and yet are able to create an actually decent client and they are able to even have working forums
Plus GOG actually offers something by making old games workGog is my go to alongside steam.
