I love them! I've been listening to them since '87. I was just listening to The Spine earlier today as a matter of fact.....

I really used to love them but feel like they have gone downhill since Mink Car came out. The other issue is that they are presently MUCH more popular as a children’s band, and their music has suffered as such. They can no longer afford to be edgy because they could alienate this new audience. I have to face the fact that my once favorite band has essentially become Raffi.

Plus the whole issue of people asking why you are listening to kids music kinds sucks.

If you are looking for a new TMBG type group (although female), check out the Ditty Bops debut album. It reminds me of TMBG's Lincoln/Flood days. You can hear snippets of their stuff on Amazon or through iTunes.

Exactly. Mink Car was awesome, but once No! hit everything changed.

me too. Loved TMBG in my university days (hence the username), but not sure of their newer stuff.

I like TMBG but the thing for me is I think most of their music sucks. The only reason I listen to them is because on every album there is at least one song that I just don't like but love.

The only album of their's that I can totally listen the whole way through on is Factory Showroom.

Is it like this for anybody else?
