Things Not addressed in the Switch 2 presentation?

Gamer79

Predicts the worst decade for Sony starting 2022
1. Camera Function Parental Controls? Putting kids/teens in front of a camera is a recipe for disaster. I remember all the sick shit I saw on my Xbox 360 with randoms either beating off, having sex, doing other weird shit live on camera. How is Nintendo going to protect children from this?

2. Internal Memory: 256GB? Well anyone knows that 4K game sizes can become quite large. Hell Call of Duty on the PS5 is over 200GB alone. Will 3rd parties like EA just port their monster game sizes over to the Switch 2? If you are a Cod fan that could be 1 or 2 games on your entire drive?

3. Nintendo Online/U.I upgrade or change? I saw nothing addressing the state of Nintendo online and it's functions.

4. Dramatic Price increase? Why do they feel it's okay to go up such a dramatic amount. Their game prices went from $60 to $90 so about 1/3rd more. Why do they feel they deserve so much over the Market value? Sure the hardcore Nintendo geeks will buy any price you put on them but the Masses are going to pump their brakes. Mom is going to Scoff when little Timmy asked for a $90 Mario Kart for Christmas. The sad thing is Nintendo rarely drops their prices. Launch Switch games are still $50-$60 in the store.

5. Price for game upgrades? How much do I have to pay if I already own the Switch original? Are there graphic upgrades or just allowing me to use the game?

6. DLSS Features? Will this be possible on the new platform? IF so, what type of DLSS

7. Battery Life?

Apparently the jpn version will be region locked to japanese language & will only accept accounts set to japanese due to the risk or people taking advantage of the shit yen. What i want to know is if they have reinstated region locking for carts & digital on machines outside of japan

Obviously this would never be addressed officially, but the main thing I'm curious about is whether the input lag will be improved. Has consistently been worse on Switch vs. other consoles for multiplatform games, hope this is something they want to fix, but I'm not holding my breath.

1. They did mention parental controls. I'm sure they'll eventually have some page where it's explained in further detail instead of spending 10 min of the presentation talking about it.

2. You can upgrade up to 2TB through SD cards. Also I doubt it will be getting many proper 4K games. If it gets COD it will be something similar to the Ps4 version which isn't as big.

4. Because they can, and they know a ton of their fans will pay up.

A tad disappointed Miyamoto didn't show up.

it would probably have been a separate stream you have to pay for anyway.

No but they can spend 10 mins talking about that bullshit "c" BUTTON that was a chat feature I called out last week.

Lower quality assets will make the games much smaller plus CoD sizes are a joke and it's for all modes (SP,MP, Zombies, Warzone).

We need confirmation that the Switch 1 Pro controller will work with Switch 2 even if it’s only compatible with Switch 1 games. I assume it will because Switch 1 Joycons will work with it but we still need confirmation.

That "C" button stands for Cuck. You are going to have to buy the New Version!

I didn't expect a tech deep dive, that will come close to release with hardware tear downs from 3rd party content folks.

The demo game they are creating to showcase the switch 2 hardware being a "paid for experience" (...still think this will be a Nintendo online sub perk) is very much in poor taste imo.

Battery life is buried on a Nintendo tech specs page, it's 2 hours for intensive games.

Actually, 60 to 90 is 1/2 or 50% more! Much worse

7. Battery Life?
1. They talked about parental controls. Also camera an add-on which is another form of parental control.
2. SAme story as last gen. Need a bigger SD card for bigger games.
3. What needs changing? NSO UI seems to work fine if that's what you're talking about. They showed online chat stuff.
4. Inflation combined with already climbing game development costs as it was. Most everything has gone up ~20%.
5. GAme upgrades will be $20 give or take. Hardly matters if it's a bit more or less. Also cost may vary depending on what is included.
6. No. Only spec whores care about DLSS.
7. Yes this the only real question. Gotta assume big new games mean lesser battery life. But also know bigger screen means bigger battery. And it's Nintendo so battery life wasn't forgotten. Look for similar battery life as Switch.

They have compatible accessories on their site, I think it works but can't use the home button to wake up the switch 2

Nintendo was never going to talk about DLSS or system specs outside of something easily digestible by the masses (storage space)
Doesn't matter if they talk about it. S2 should have DLSS or it will die quickly. 3rd party games look like SHIT.

Thanks for confirming it

Read the post I quoted. You'll get deep dives from analysis and teardowns eventually but that information isn't likely to come from Nintendo directly.

No mention of specs whatsoever, even on their website, so we'll just have to go with "2 Switches duct-taped together", which is pretty much what all the games looked like they were running on.

It's from the official Nintendo website. What part is misinformation?

It seems we'll have traditional carts as well as these and it will be a publisher option to decide which to use. SF6 being on the key card carts makes perfect since due to the size and how often it is updated.
