Hi. My name is Vieo. You may remember from such threads as "This PC case will blow your mind." and "These fangrills will blow your mind!".

Well I'm back, folks, and yes.. once again, just when you thought your mind couldn't be blown any further, you were wrong!!

Das Keyboard $79.99. Sorry. Only ubergeeks need apply.

This keyboard will blow your mind.

http://maarshan.com/products.htm

-The keys are on see-through plastic so you can see the keys.
-There will be an LCD screen on the side(s) that is facing you on the first commercial models, so you will be able to reprogram/remap the keys with Dvorak or it can be very useful for the Chinese where the stuff becomes dynamic (I think this means the keys on the LCD screen will change while you type).
-There will be a portable vertical keyboard where you can close it like a book.

I can't wait for this thing and other models to be released.

hm, that explanation for the blank keys actually makes sense....

That's how I learned how to type ironically. Dark room, irc chat, can't see the keys, eventually my brain adapted a four finger method with lightening quick backspace access. I can type around 60 wpm with no errors with this method, and it was all developed by not being able to see the keys when I typed.

touch type simply means to type without looking at the keyboard yeah? Why's it such a big thing? Just look up at the screen and you'll eventually learn how to touch type... use computers long enough and it becomes second hand.

I'm still a pretty slow typer even though I'm a touch typist... where the hell is my lightning quick speeds?

That said, I do have to look down at the keyboard to hit the right numerical key (and their shift variant), and at the keyboard to verify I'm typing in the correct complex passwords, registrations, etc.
