The paramedics just ran? Granted, they couldn't have done anything in that situation, but is that legal?

WTF, should they have stayed to die too? o_O

No, I'm not saying that either, I mean hell, I most likely would've ran, BUT...

1) It IS fucked up either way to run knowing the guy's gonna kill somebody.
2) They serve the public, much like a police officer. I was just curious if they're held to a higher standard, and if running was illegal for them, or subject to disciplinary action.

yeah cause paramedics are well armed and trained for combat, right? right?

They serve the public but in a much different way then a police officer.

I understand the EMS actions, I honestly can't throw any fault their way.

I read this story in the morning and it still fucks me up.

That is just some inhuman super cold-blooded shit.

This story is intriguing. I've saved it in my personal archive. I think the implications of the actions taken by the paramedics are worthy of consideration.

Yeah, I read this in the paper this morning. Seriously fucked up. I don't blame the medics at all, they did their job as well as they could do. I'm just kind of shocked they were called to this scene with no police at all. Shots in the night and the first ones there are the EMS? But then again this is Detroit. Fucking Kwame is shit.

When I play GTA the paramedics usually get a nice steaming bowl of lead in the nuts.

I feel sorry for the paramedics - even though there was nothing they could do, I bet they feel awful right now.

A paramedic is not required by law to stay and take a bullet for a patient.

If someone were in need of medical attention and they ignored it, that would be a different matter. Just like a lifeguard that sees someone drowning or in need of cpr. There is nothing they could have done to help without getting hurt. They aren't trained in that area.

man this is some sad news, its like out of some movie!

POLICE should always be there before the paramedics are, especially if there have been gunfire !

i will never move to Detroit!

the world needs MORE GUNS

then the paramedics could've shot that guy with the shotgun.

Yeah, what the hell? Why are we even questioning what the paramedics did? They didn't abandon their patient. There's an obvious murderer with a shotgun standing next to them who tells them to move. They run just TWELVE FEET away and the shots go off. It's not like they abandoned the boy. There was nothing else they could do.

If I was a medic, I'd be scared yeah, but I would try hard to save the kids life. I probably would die trying :(

I wouldn't. He'd just kill you before he killed the boy.

There's no honour in being another victim. If I had a weapon, it'd be a different story. A shotty to the face isn't my idea of a good time.
