Already answered that you dont need to be online to play the PS+, but i just wanted to add that they way it works is that DRM is added when you download the games, so the games will expire once the PS+ membership ends.

PS Allstars is about 1.6GB i think. 4GB will work fine for that. For the other PS+ games however, then 4GB wont be enough unless you want to keep deleting and reinstalling.

I think the "permanent fixtures" change at the beginning of the year. If that is indeed the case, and I'm uncertain because Sony seems to keep changing its pace, but if so... man, January will be a rad month.
 
one may go into sale soon. I cancelled my order. PSASBR being NA only and basically realizing i dont need one at this point, with my backlog (im not a person that goes out with a portable either).

So yeah. I love my plus subscription and the games that come with it, it's just that... not yet the time.

This was actually the best time to jump on board. Even if they dropped the price of the system to $150 tomorrow (they won't) it's still not as good a deal as this was.

it's not really that bad, my views with plus is in general it's a great way to play a game, if I like it and will play it again I will just buy it later when it's really cheap (play uncharted vita on plus and if you like it buy it next black friday for $10 lol), otherwise i can just forget about it's existence. heck the 1 hour trials have saved me some money as if I didn't have the one hour trial for playstation move heroes I likely would have picked it up for $10 instead of avoiding it like it was diseased lol

You may be right. All I know is that they've cycled through a few games already, but inFAMOUS 2, LBP2, and Ratchet: All 4 One are always there. I think in the very first post about the Instant Game Collection, Jeff Reubenstein or someone said that some games will be permanent Instant Collection items, but the others will be cycled out regularly. I just always assumed that the SCE owned titles would be the permanent fixtures. After all inFAMOUS 2, LBP2, and Ratchet: A4O have probably all reached their max sales potential.

Honestly, PS+ is pretty damn awesome. I've been a Plus dude for about a year and a half now, and it's been a great service so far. I have way too many games to count, and the discounts are actually really good. I think Plus has more in common with what Steam is doing in terms of discounts and bonuses, than Xbox LIVE.

Jumping in late... Is the Vita a good or bad investment at this point. I am out of it in terms of its relative success. This deal is quite tempting.

Great first year lineup, thing has been doing horrible sales wise, but at 179 I don't think you can go wrong if you like stuff like Uncharted.

I got the official flappy one for free but it kinda sucks. I ordered a bunch of screen protectors and a plastic case though. That's what I use for my PSP Go and I'm hoping I can fit the plastic vita case with the flimsy official one. More protection overall.
 
So many new Vita faces incoming and incoming at a perfect time with the new PS+ Vita program and a hell of a deal on a bundle there. I only wish I would have held back long enough to take part in a deal like this one. I'm sitting very happy with my First Edition 3G model and my 32GB stick with Persona 4 off retail cart. Life is good.

I still see the deal page is up. I would call customer service immediately and tell them you want to purchase that product with that price/deal. Amazon CS is usually excellent.

It looks really nice but no way in hell I'm spending $50 on a case.
 
Couple of things:

1. Stoked about getting my bundle/16 GB card/case tomorrow.
2. It is alarming it took 5 hours for this thing to tell out when most amazon BF deals are gone in seconds.
3. I am noticing a ton of almost cult like people on here regarding the Vita. What gives? You guys bash people for having an issue people like myself stating the obvious that the sales of the system have been bad, and that a great deal like this should have been gone in minutes, but give no real reason other than say its the best handheld ever. I am stoked to get mine, but what is with this super defensive attitude?

When they first announced their new way of doing things at E3 this year, it was confusing, but we eventually figured it out. It went something like;

One game alternates every month
Two games alternate every two months
Three games alternate every three months
Three games alternate every six months
And three games alternate every year.

The last three were always known to be LBP 2, Infamous 2, and A4O, and at the time we figured they would switch at next E3. However, they have since been listed on the Store as "expiring 12/31/12," along with Sony not exactly following their initial guidelines for the rest of the rotations.

But who knows in the end? Sony does an awful job communicating, marketing, promoting, supporting... but damn if PS Plus isn't the best service I've ever seen in the industry. They could double the price, and I could be mandated by some deity to not spend more than a hundred dollars a year on gaming, and I wouldn't hesitate to grab PS+ and nothing else.

you are confusing lightning deals with the gold box deal they are vastly different things. The lightning deals you are thinking of are items they put on sale that they only have 100-1000 or so stock of and when they are gone they are gone. The gold box deals are items they have a lot of stock of and usually last the entire day. I would guess that at least 25k vitas were sold by amazon during this if not more.

Really? LOL... I would never get a mac for normal internet usage. But working with the application is pretty amazing on the Mac. :) Plus OSX being Unix based helps a lot for the work I am doing.

Regardless, I am want to order it, but the lack of video out is a disappointing. Still thinking about it now.

Ya, let me know what you think of it. I probably won't have my vita for a little bit yet with the shipping from amazon so you'll probably get the case before my vita.

Edit: Ya, that official one I don't like. It feels too exposed around the edges and will get messed up it feels like just having that.

Ah, I see.

So, at the very least, the new Vita folk have plenty of time to snag the 6 free games. They won't be expiring this year, I'm sure (perhaps some 3rd party titles may, though).
