Good movie in almost all fronts, but the lack of time given to develop the villain was just depressing. The first universe threatening (was he? it sorta appeared that way..what would've happened if he won?) villain in the marvel movies and he gets maybe the littlest development. If they movie was just 20 minutes longer and it focused on the villain it'd be great. I can hope for an extended cut, if they have the content even to add, but I doubt if it was there to add that they would, marvel hasn't shown any sort of intention to have extended cuts.

Wow this film was awesome, pretty much did it all for me! one problem though was that the villains soldiers looked like Dr who aliens, didn't help seeing Christopher eccleston either haha

Enjoyed it, fun movie, lots of entertaining scenes, got the humor right (the car keys gag was great for instance). Loved the Odin, Thor, Loki interactions. Was hoping for more Odin kicking ass though.

One of the stronger Marvel films so far. Lots of amusing references (and a hilarious cameo. Seriously awesome). The Thor/Jane reunion was satisfying, and honestly that was one of the main things I wanted from the sequel after seeing the first movie. Plenty of Loki and Thor interaction like I was hoping.

It was great.

Heh, I thought this WAS the average comic book movie
Maybe in structure, but I think Marvel can get away with by the books super hero plots because they are so good at world building and making everything around the plot interesting to me. Most Marvel movies give me the same feeling I have when I'm reading a good Marvel comic, which is exactly what I want out of these movies.
Going to see this in a few...

is there a gotg trailer
No but,
lets just say stay for the credits.

I'm off to see this now, so excited! :)

Thor 2 and Hobbit 2 are my most awaited 2013 movies. (although Gravity surprised me my completely blowing me away)

Very good movie and quite enjoyable. I liked it better than Iron Man 3 which pissed me off but did anyone else feel something was missing? It needed to be longer and have more development for both Asgard and the characters within. I wish they included more of Sif, Faendal and the rest. Have them fight in the final battle maybe? It seems like they are people Thor kind of knows as opposed his brothers-in-arms. I saw the Desolation Of Smaug trailer and wondered what a LOTR style movie in the Thor universe would be like. Jane could be Frodo given a great burden to carry and Thor and friends could be her Fellowship. However, I loved how they treated Loki and the cameo's were great

This movie felt like "Another day in the life of Thor" as opposed to something truly epic despite the villain's intentions to undo the universe itself. Compare to the recent God Bomb arc in the comics. Did we need this movie? How would it fair if it was just a standalone sequel to the original Thor without the other Marvel films and especially Avengers backing it up? We won't see Thor 3 for a LOOOONNNNGGG time so it's like they made the movie to fill up space and because Marvel knew people expected Thor 2 and would watch it regardless of quality. Also, let Thor cut loose some time, looked like he was holding back but World of Cardboard and all that. Conversely making it too EPIC!! is a danger and may result in a shit movie, smaller more contained story lines are appreciated here it was definitely meant to be EPIC!!

Saw it yesterday, thoroughly enjoyed it.

I agree that the villain needed more development, but that seems to be a lot of the Marvel films. However, the villain didn't really have a relationship with any of the heroes, so I suppose building him up would not have contributed too much to the film.

The relationships that were present in the movie (Thor-Odin, Thor-Loki, Thor-Jane, Loki-Frigga, even Sif-Jane) were all done quite well. I especially thought the Loki-Frigga bit was effective.
A friend didn't understand that Loki was generating an illusion of Frigga in his cell, and that their conversation about her bringing him books was all just his imagination. A scene that I thought really showed how destroyed Loki really was.

As many have said, the humor really worked. Though Kat's character was non-stop goofy lines, she wasn't too heavily overused (even liked the call-back to "Meow-Meow"). Oh, and Chris O'Dowd had both my wife and I cracking up.

I did think that Lady Sif and the Warriors Three should have had more to do, but I thought the same in the first movie. At least here, they contributed to the middle of the film.

Final battle was one of the best in Marvel movies, and I loved that it felt like a knock-down, drag-out fist fight.

Wait, what?
I think that WAS Frigga. She has the illusion power too, and it's implied in a later scene she taught it to Loki.

Funny, I thought that
Frigga was communicating telepathically with Loki, considering she has the same magic/illusion powers as Loki.

Humour was one of this movie's strength's. Fun adventure type of to to the film
Also, were the production crew playing Portal while making this?

Kat Dennings in Thor = Two Broke Gods

I don't think that is how it went down.
Frigga is show later in the movie having the same exact power (in a way hinting at where Loki got it). So it wouldn't surprise me if she was projecting herself into his cell as a way to communicate with him.

Edit: Bah, completely and thoroughly beaten.

/shakes tiny fist at Blader and richiek.

It's her. Even she aknowledges that, and Odin tells Loki that Frigga teach him magic, i guess so lil' Loki didn't feel useless against his more blond and popular brother

And stoned through the Nine Realms and back.

I'm not worried for Sif and the Warriors 3, i can bet a good money they will be back in a MAHVEL One Shot (Like Agent Carter)

Hmmph.. I enjoyed the first film more. I guess I don't dig all the windy and barren black and brown settings.

Hopefully Loki got his ass kicked for impersonating Odin in later movie. I hate bad ending.

I enjoyed the movie. Only complaint is how they changed the aesthetics of Asgard in this film. It had a completely different feel in the first movie to me.

Yeah definitely, but while I usually get annoyed by these sorts of changes in sequels I actually dug it here. Asgard felt much more lived in and real to me, a great blend of sci-fi and fantasy.

I just got back from the Imax 3D showing. It wasn't very busy in there, that's for certain. It's the first Marvel 3D movie I've seen where the 3D added very little IMO.

The move itself was pretty good. It was much darker than the first. The lows for the characters were pretty fucking low. Thor 2 built upon and expanded virtually everything from the first movie. Characters grew and the relationships were fleshed out more. I enjoyed seeing a bit more of the tech-type stuff in Asgard and the other realms. It's quite a mash up. The villain felt powerful, as did his Dark Elf force. It was nice seeing a force to be reckoned with.

The last fight was great. There are several small things I would change, but overall I was pleased. I really look forward to Winter Soldier now.

Yeah I know it's a common complaint that the Marvel movies lack any kind of visual style and that Avengers looked like a TV show but I was pretty impressed with this movie in that regard. It definitely looked like a 170 million dollar movie.

That movie didn't felt superheroes-wish movie but more of a sic/fantasy.
Enjoyed it overall. A lot of people laughed at the comedy part which was lacking in Man of Steel.

Also some female laugh on the first Chris no shirt part

There was a second credits scene? Son of a bitch.

I liked the movie. It started slow, got extremely good about midway, and then fell off a bit toward the end. Overall I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure if I like it better than the first Thor.

Really liked the cameo of a certain other character about midway through in the hallway walking with Thor. Loved it.

For some race of goofy looking aliens they're pretty scary. Just look how an skeleton crew could take Odin's palace so easily. Just imagine how a bunch of them could wreck shit left and right.

Changing the actor for Fandral from Josh Dallas to Zachary Levi (Thanks, IMDB!) really bugged me. I get that Dallas is probably busy doing Once Upon a Time, but Levi looked off and it was really noticeable. If anything, they should have dropped him out of the movie in the first act
like they did with Hogun.

Every time one of those
black hole grenades
went off I would cringe. That would be such an incredibly painful way to die.

Its likely the overall story to the Marvel universe will be based around the
Infinity stones
based on the mid credits scene.
The Collectormentions 1 down, 5 to go.

Edit. Fixed the spoiler tags, I messed them up.

Damn this movie shat all over the first Thor. Totally made up for that garbage Destroyer fight. Probs the most entertaining Marvel solo movie. Still kinda hate that Thor is super depowered in this movie. That last battle was just as entertaining to watch as the Avengers's finale.

DAT ENDING CREDIT SCENE THO OMG

I loved it. The first movie felt like Beastmaster 2 meets Masters of the Universe, this felt like Krull meets Star Wars. I'm glad they've really embraced the cosmic nature of the Asgardians.

So is The Winter Soldier 5 min preview shown before all showings, just 2D, just 3D or what? I'm thinking about seeing this tonight.

Had some issues with the movie but overall liked it a lot. I felt both Malekith and Sif + The Warriors Three were severely underutilized. But it's not like you can do much interesting stuff with Malekith anyways.

BTW I flipped out by the cameo, my heart skipped a beat! just fantastic (got the biggest reaction in my theater too) <3

Plot was pretty thin, I wish we got character from Malakith, and it didn't feel as "big" as it was trying to be. It felt very contained, despite looking like it had the risk of becoming as insane as the battle of New York.

Thor and Loki stuff was great, the cameo was amazing, and that mid-credits scene got my hyped hard.

I wish we got more of Lady Sif and the Warriors Three. More Lady Sif in Thor 3, please.

I loved the movie overall, despite my criticisms. I might see it again soon.

Pretty fun movie, good cameos, Loki and Thor remain awesome. One of the best final bouts alongside the Avengers. Really thought it was the best part of the flick. Warriors and Sif <3 need more screen time.

No real overarching theme stood out to me, a lot of stuff that just happened. Feel like the older actors don't want to be there any more, haha. Still fun.

Keep up the entertainment Marvel.
