I don't get the idea of releasing Gothic 1-3 on PS/Xbox after the remake of 1. Aren't they supposed to attract new players to the franchise? Besides 1 & 2 are already on Switch so it's just the case of picking higher graphics settings.

I thought Fatekeeper was going to be a Dark Messiah game at first. Regardless THQ is carrying the torch right now for Western RPG fans.

It's supposed to be similar to Dark Messiah, but I was just listening to some impressions of one of the youtubers who was on the game's closed presentation and he said their biggest inspiration was Techland's Hellraid game. Apparently devs of this game loved Hellraid's trailer and were so bummed about its cancellation they decided to make something like this by themselves lol

I'd rather have the old Resident Evil trilogy than the new one. I'm sure some Gothic fans feel the same.

Can't believe how shit that looks now. I remember being excited I think.

I was so disappointed to see the Gothic trilogy remaster being 2026, I was expecting an "available now" at the end of the trailer. Oh well, still excited to replay them and maybe finally finish Gothic 3. Even with the community patch, it's such a fucking mess on PC and doesn't seem to improve no matter how much I upgrade my hardware to the point I finally gave up years ago. A modern port could potentially fix the excessive stuttering.

Sure I understand, but a remake needs a larger audience since the original Gothic games are popular mostly in Europe and russia. That's probably not enough to turn into a financial success, especially with the risk that a lot of og fans moved on from gaming 20+ years later.

At least they released the demo for the consoles, that's a good step.

Yeah the animation fidelity reminds me of Cuphead.

The narrative in the trailer is surprisingly menacing.
