I wonder if this thread will actually discuss the topic or turn to shit on like the other one.
You joke but that is exactly what happened with PS3 ... Sony recovered, PS3 got stronger as the years went on and they learned from their mistakes, and they delivered PS4.
...the only real thing PS4 has on XB1 is the hardware advantage which is lessening as time goes on...
Things in Japan aren't looking very bright (this is the Akihabara Yodobashi store, the one that always shows up on the "Japanese people waiting in line" pics).

Very definitive there chap, since all the 180's the only real thing PS4 has on XB1 is the hardware advantage which is lessening as time goes on (games hitting 1080p on XB1 more often). Other than that it's friends, price, OS, exclusives, controller ect which determine which is better (which is entirely opinion).
I'm officially in love with the idea that there exists special reusable guide rope to be used in conjunction with traffic cones. That is amazing

I guess what he is trying to say is that over time the hardware advantage won't matter as much. As more games release on Xbox One at 1080p there will be less graphical differences between a ps4 and Xbox one multi-platform game. But to be fair we may still have issues with Xbox dropping frames or some other performance issue, but this will just become less noticeable (hopefully) over time as developers familiarize themselves with the hardware and Microsoft enhancing their dev tools. Just to be clear, I'm just trying to explain what the other OP might have been saying. In my own opinion, I think certain games will prob end up looking better on the ps4, even towards the end of this gen. But i have other reasons to stick with an Xbox.Loooool wut
Do you even realize what you're saying? How can a hardware advantage "lessen" over time? The same hardware advantage for the PS4 over the X1 will remain forever. Software can attempt to mask it, but the advantage will never go away.
And I'd say Sony selling a more powerful console at the same price is the biggest advantage by far out of everything you listed.
Shhh. Let him dream. What? How is the hardware advantage getting smaller? Is the XBone getting better hardware, are they changing the ram? This makes zero sense.
When you say that the games are finally hitting 1080p it doesn't mean the hardware of the XBone is improving, the difference regarding hardware is the same.
sad to see that customers are not treating the systems equally.
ps3 sold shitty in the beginning but outsold the xbox so easily.
the ps3 was already at the beginning doing quite well in germany, while the first multiplatform titles were so much shittier back then(remember ridge racer6+7, bioshock, loading time issues and the resolution)
now it should be equal because non of the systems have exclusive titles worth to be bought, but the ps4 already outsold the x1. for me, it doesnt seem to be a cheerful gen, this time.
the japanese launch yesterday was a pretty sad one. more employees than customers at the launch-party. what was that? a flash mob NOT to show up on that launch?
Why, as consumers, are we obligated to treat anything equally?

Just a couple more 1080p xbone games, and PS4 hardware advantage will be gone.
Hardware advantage isnt going anywhere. No magic sauce will change that.
They will get more familiar with the ps4 although Sony might not have any desire to improve their dev tools since it's so easy already. Microsoft on the other hand has a lot to improve so we might see a faster improvement on the Xbox side vs PS4. This doesn't mean Xbox games will get better then PS4 games. Most likely we will see some multi-platforms look identical with rare performance issues on the x1.Yeah, we get what he's saying, but you think developers won't become more familiar with the PS4 as time goes on or that the dev tools won't be enhanced? What he said doesn't make sense.
Crimson Dragon potential killer app confirmed:
Ps4 is the better console otherwise it would not be 10,000,000 to 5,000,000
lawdThe hardware advantage is not lessening, that is impossible unless you think leprechauns came to switch out the compenents inside while you were sleeping.
IMO, Ps4 is the better console.

You are making a bunch of baseless, pointless statement today and trying to pretend they're funny jokes.
It's honestly not working.
Ugh, can we not do this again in this thread. The other one about Japan went to shit because of comments like this. Let's try to have a decent discussion this time. One Person in Japan buying Xbox One confirmed:
The war is over, They sold their entire shipped stock. Xbox won.

Console launch thread becomes a console war thread. For fuck sakes.

China should be very interesting for X1
Can really take off
Well, they told us the box was delayed for localisation yet only the dashboard is translated and no voice commands or any other stuff is out at launch. Don't know about any regional apps or cable box contracts or whatever so maybe we'll see some announcements about that this week, but I doubt it.
Then Tier 2 release can be crossed off the board. Then again we had a few people saying anything could happen in Japan with xbone so real craziness cannot be shut down.

Based on polling Chinese gamers prefer the PS4 by a significant amount. I'm not sure if I can find it, I remember someone posting it here on GAF. I wouldn't expect either console to sell much in China just based on their piracy culture.
Both Sony and Microsoft have plans to launch their home consoles from this eighth generation of gaming into mainland China. While the consoles are already available via importers from Hong Kong, there's a much larger market to tap if both companies can reach the more than billion members of the Republic of China with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, respectively. Well, a poll was taken to gauge the average interest of the Chinese gamer in both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One (amongst other devices) and the PS4 came out on top with 57.3% of the vote, with the Xbox One garnering only 11% of the vote.
Games in Asia provides a translation of the stats, noting that the PlayStation 4 comes out on top, with the Xbox One in second place, the PS Vita/TV in third and 18.7% saying they would rather buy the device of their choice from the gray-market importers.

Also, I agree he could have been more clear.

Games can't ever become more graphically demanding for his fantasy to work either.Yeah, we get what he's saying, but you think developers won't become more familiar with the PS4 as time goes on or that the dev tools won't be enhanced? What he said doesn't make sense.
I think the XBO related threads start going off-rails because some XBO guys start making claims and theories that are just... not very good, so it's only logical that people will jump in and tell them why they might be wrong... that's how i see it (for those guys complaining about yet another XBO thread getting derailed).
