That's right, in one of the more clever and entertaining additions to the Tiger Woods series, not only are there thousands of fans lining the course (up to 5,000 fans per hole on the bigger courses), but you can hit them with the ball. Hit someone in the head and he might fall face down in the grass. Hit someone in the foot and they hop around. Hit someone in the balls and it's like America's Funniest Home Videos as the poor polygon hunches over at the pain of his bruised family jewels. It's almost distracting because you see the hole, but at the same time, you want to see some of the new pain animations of the 3D crowd, so you turn around and take a whack and see what happens. Funny thing is, when you're aiming at the crowd, they know it and they start to wave their hands like "Please, I want to have children one day!" But with the help of my 9-iron, those dreams are dead as I smack a low liner into his nuts. They could almost make a mini-game out of hitting these poor people who pay the price for watching the match. It's that fun.

In turn, because of these undulations, because the courses are more realistic, the gameplay is inherently more difficult as your shots are no longer perfect every time. Now if you land in the rough, you're really in the rough and you can be stuck behind twigs, under deep sand, or imbedded in tall grass that can be a real pain for you to try to hack your way out of. The ball also rolls along the course more due to those previously mentioned undulations, and this means more rolls into the rough, into the sand, and into the drink. This really forces you to think a couple shots ahead and take your time examining placement for your next shot. It's no longer a case of swinging your hardest and heading straight to the hole. You really have to incorporate the dual analog swing mechanics of the draw and fade (not to mention pressing the button for added spin) if you want to handle these courses like a pro.
