Alan Wake 2 was the very last thing I bought on Series X before selling it.
I might never get to finish it.

Maybe it will be my very first Epic Store buy? Maybe Not

It might take a decade but it will come. There was time when imagining Last of Us or Halo or Diablo on Steam was a thing of lalaland dreams. All are there now.

Hypocrite Tim Sweeney and his fight against walled gardens, walls off another game exclusive to his shit store.

Fuck off Tim you cunt

Latest Remedy Financial Report States 'Alan Wake II' Has Recouped Almost All Development Costs. Way back in August, Remedy had revealed in its financial report that Alan Wake II, despite all of its acclaim and awards, had yet to turn a profit for the developer. 04 Nov 2024

Alan Wake 2 is just boring and dull. A game cannot be carried by its art style if it is so unfun and even the story is awfully pretensious.

People who blame EGS for Alan Woke's 2 failure are delusional. This game still was on PS5 and XBOX. And failed even there. People just don't want to buy such a dull game to sit there and for hours move photos from the bottom of the screen to the board.

Remedy does that ALL the time. Remember Quantum Break launching exclusively on... The windows store?
Control also started on the Epic Game store as an exclusive too.
And Alan Wake 2 forever exclusive.

They always pick the worst possible exclusivity deal, on the worst possible platforms, every single time. I never understood that about them.

A few years ago I was not ready to start buying games from the Epic Store. However, they gave me so many AAA games for free that I started using their store. I have no idea why so many people hate the Epic Store, as I have never had any problems with it. I bought Alan Wake 2 on epic store and everything works without problems.

That's the reason I skipped pc version altogether.
And this is the 1 fucking game that I should've gotten on pc since even ps5 pro version is kinda trash especially when it comes to controls/deadzones/acceleration

It isn't walled. You can install the store for free and get the game. Its more like a free to use parking lot that is right across the street from your favorite parking lot.

Well fuck them then. I'll never buy anything on that shitshow of a launcher since being hacked two years ago, losing about 40 games, most of them paid for, and Epic telling me there is nothing they can do about it as I couldn't remember the exact date I originally installed their launcher. CUNTS!

I mean, sure it sucks, but the dude that wrote that email doesn't seem that bright either. He rather play the game at cut down visuals and frames than buy the game for $25 on sale and have it running path traced on his PC (he claimed that he could max it out). ON top of that he asks the guy who owns the Epic store if the game is releasing on their competitors platform lmao.

It's the same reason people warring for consoles.

Its a different garden than the one I want to play in. So yes it is exclusive to a different garden. Its walled off to that particular garden.

I don't want to play in a hypocrite's garden.

Nope. Pc's have been open platforms, where you can buy the games wherever. Epic wants to bring the console war style to PC, which is why I hate them. Trying to win over people with exclusives. Fuck off. Pc isnt about platform warring, which is exactly why Epic is trash.

There's literally a million reasons and threads on this subject if you want to learn why people hate the Epic store.

I thought it was already announced for Steam? Might be having a mandela effect moment though.

Most people are really irrational about this. Of course its bullshit that epic was buying alot of exclusives but alan wake 2 shows its hypocrisy.

You can't play all the gaas games from valve on epic game store or Microsoft game store.

Srsly I like using steam but valve is the most risk averse low effort company in the industry.

Yeah that's how I live too.
I have 3 apartments, each with only 1 room.

Makes no sense. I don't want to scatter my games/assets around multiple stores.
And I just don't like epic

I mean it's "walled" from the perspective of the launcher or if you have SteamDeck or Linux as getting EGS games to run there is a pain.

And a lot of folks don't want to support Epic especially considering some of their actions around in authorized data collection in the past. They scanned your Steam User info within permission (recent play list, friends info, etc) and also scanned local PC files.

And look at their stance on anti-cheat and Linux support.
