Seriously though yeah, I'm really looking forward to starting S3 tonight. I hope the ending is good, Dark has been amazing so far but these "mystery box" type shows can really turn to shit if they don't nail the ending.

Been meaning to watch Dark one of these days, but yeah, I'm concerned it will be a LOST like situation and the ending will make the whole thing a waste of time.

S3 is amazing. 2 eps in and it looks like they are keeping up the "every ep starts with a sex scene" bit as well :p

All those actors are looking long in the tooth though. Mikkel and the deaf girl are practically college kids now :p The parents are looking more like grandparents!

I tried watching this , but I just couldn’t keep up with it all. So many characters, so many time lines. It’s a lot to take in. It’s a bit melodramatic with seemingly every episode ending with a depressing music video.
Finished season one , but don’t feel like continuing.
Shame , because it’s really well shot and acted.

It is a lot but the writing is so well done.
I recommend continuing. Season two surpasses the first and has plenty of twists.

Just finished the 3rd season. It explains everything. It makes sense. It is good. Mindblown

Yep, they tied it almost perfectly. I think Noah was a bit of a stretch, but other than that, everything works.

I do wish they had a happy ending tho, I really liked the characters... Jonas deserved to be happy, he got exactly what he wanted but that was very sad.

Just finished it. Such a melancholic show :( Absolutely #1 for a rewatch some day. Amazing how it manages to mostly hold together. Hope the writers put out a long "making of" article.

Two problems though..
who gets sent back in the initial prime universe to kick it all off? None of the kids survive! And how does this prevent middle aged Regina from getting cancer?

Seasons 1 and 2 were fantastic. I'm mixed about Season 3, mainly its last 3 or 4 episodes.

I could deal with the writers continuously throwing different time periods at me, but the multiple worlds and the Schrodinger's Cat event were a bit much.

How did Martha from World B (the version of Martha who didn't run into the house to save Jonas) know about World A and how did she get there? The only reason Martha B is aware of World A is because Jonas was rescued by her and he informed her younger-self. So if there's a version where Jonas wasn't rescued, Martha B wouldn't know about an alternate world, and wouldn't be IN World A at all.

And why does Schrodinger's Cat only apply to that one scene? Why doesn't it apply to every moment?

This is good to hear. I'm 3 or 4 episodes in and confused af. It was bad enough before the added layer of complexity, but I guess like the previous seasons it'll come good.

What I think is going on....
we are seeing iterations of time all mashed up. At a certain point things are happening just because the book, handed down from time loop to time loop, tells adam, eva, or claudia to do it just so things can happen like they did in a previous loop. Take Noah and the chair for example. There is no reason for it since they have the box or globe devices, yet he must grab kids and kill them just so events play out. So the cross dimensional stuff occured because the eva side figured it out once, built the globe that could exploit it, and then informed future loops about it. I think there were other dimensions as well, probably one everytime a choice could have gone differently, they just never explored one or got the globe. Those alt dimensions were also undone when jonas and Martha saved the clockmakers family.

Still have seen only the first episode, was watching Unsolved Mysteries. Which is good btw.

Back to Dark later today. :3

Yeah it's a great show. Actually watching season 1 and 2 again because there's just so many important story lines and character details .

The season recaps are just not good enough to (fully) bring you up to speed.

I love it but I still haven't finished the third season, I will read the thread more in depth after that.

But I love Dark and Maja Schone is :messenger_heart:

ECRKugUXYAAKt7T

She has that sex appeal that is hard to find. She's not incredibly hot, she's not incredibly beautiful, but she has those eyes and attitude, that little sluty look that implies she can suck your balls dry. Drives any man crazy.

Alessandra Negrini vibe.

Good comparison, man :)

Alessandra Negrini is also fantastic (at 49 she beats the crap out most 20 year olds)

And why does Schrodinger's Cat only apply to that one scene? Why doesn't it apply to every moment?

It has to do with the sides of the line of time. There are 2 worlds and 2 flows of time, but that results in 4 timelines, and each precedes and intertwine with the other, making so that the existence of a timeline is dependent on the other and on their own repeating nature itself.

That's where the Schrodinger's Cat thing shows itself. It's not exclusive to a scene but rather to the whole thing. The older Jonas we see from Season 1 (that becomes Adam) is "not the same" Jonas we follow through the story. The old Jonas wasn't saved by Martha B, and so he sets the path that makes the Jonas that dies possible.

Martha from Jonas's world always dies and Martha B is always warned by the Jonas that dies, but if Bartosh gets in the way before the apocalipse, then the timeline diverge and Jonas becomes Adam.

The same happens for the Martha B that Adam kills and the Martha B that becomes Eva.

It's as if the overall time requires two cycles to repeat itself.

Have to throw out a dissenting vibe, a couple times during the show I've been like, these dudes are cheating on their wives for this? Just don't see anything at all appealing there.

Well, to be fair, none of the women on Dark are made up to be classically beautiful, other than maybe Agnes and Doris in the 50s. Most just look stressed out all the time :p

I can only imagine an american adaptation with typical CW casting. Old woman claudia is played by a 35 year old supermodel with silver hair and a tiny blemish on her face :p

Well, she's the one advancing... if you're not honorable and other pussy is throwing itself in front of you, I'd say there are good chances of shit happening.

Plus, Ulrich fucks any pussy that cross his path, man

Yep, I think the cast is pretty good. They are all attractive in their own ways but not fake, they look good but still within the helm of real people. From all the girls, I think Jonas is the most attractive :messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy:

Actually, Magnus's girl is pretty, so is the girl Bartosh gets. Martha looks fine but I don't know...

4 episodes in and I'm really enjoying Season 3.
If it really ties up everything as well as people are saying it might actually be the first "supernatural mystery" show I've ever seen that not only answers all questions but does so in a satisfying way.

Check out Mr Robot if you want a second show that ties up everything well.

Does anyone else feel like they rushed S03? I'm watching Episode 6 and IDK it feels like they have content here for like 2 entire seasons. Season one was very slow. Season two had a perfect pacing and this one feels rushed.

Yeah finished it last night and I agree.
S3 seemed to be completely centred around Jonas and Martha where in previous seasons it felt like everyone had equal billing.

Also there wasn’t really a climax to the story, they resolved everything but it was all handled really fast.

Despite the complaints it doesn’t tarnish the entire show though.

Just finished it.
I really enjoyed it and I think it's one of the best shows not only on Netflix but of this type (supernatural mystery?) in general. I didn't love everything about the ending but still, the way they managed to tie such a complex story together in a compelling way and without leaving any major plot holes or unanswered questions (at least that I can think of right now) is something I'm struggling to think if I've ever seen before.

It's one of the very few "mystery box" shows where it actually feels like the writers had an answer for every mystery and weren't just making shit up that they didn't know how to resolve just to keep audiences engaged

Yeah this one felt a bit rushed. I don't think they needed a whole other season but this might have one of the rare inverted scenarios on Netflix where going with 10 episodes for the season could have been better. The ending in particular and the way it was all solved in the end feels like it could have been spread over at least 2 chapters.

Finished it last night. Jonas started to annoy the crap out of me with his gormless just stand there staring like he's about to cry for 15 seconds every time anyone asked him anything. Other than that it was great. Felt like a nice conclusion to a really good series.
