I haven't been following this. Why is everyone glad that he's off the hook? Was the evidence not substantial enough?

That Depends, if you hate Brady, there was enough evidence to convict him to life in prison for treason and plot to assassinate JFK.

There is no shame today. Only winning. You know, that normal feeling we get to enjoy.

WHAT? What is this filth? The Pats are guilty! Always! Anyone who likes the Patriots needs to only post acknowledgement of shame and guilt! Asterisks for life! Praise JABEE!

Evidence was incredibly flimsy, and then misused and misrepresented on top of that to reach overly broad, unsupported conclusions. To gloss over those deficiencies, the league badly mishandled the punishment and the appeal, essentially obligating the judge to vacate the punishment based on multiple instances of not following proper procedure and federal law.

Anyone that doesn't think he did it is a moron or a shill..but, that wasn't what the case was about and I'd rather see Goodell get smacked down than a team I don't care about.

What about from the perspective of a neutral observer? Does such a person exist in this thread?

If you look at the case impassively, two things become clear:

1) The evidence that exists is eyebrow-raising at best, but is far from conclusive.

2) Even if Brady's guilty, the punishment was way overblown relative to the impact the balls had on games, which was probably none.

We really need Obama to overturn this.

I doubt that, Im a Pats fan, and obviously I have my bias, let say that from a neutral perspective you might think he had something to do with it, but will also think this doesn't warrant such a big deal and defenetly such a big suspension

Let put this in perspective, if Brady cheated a Deflated ball could be an equivalent to something like a Corked bat in Baseball, the penalty for that is like 8 games (of a 162 game season), in perspective Brady got 40 Game suspension for a Corked Bat.

Thanks. And another question: weren't the same balls in use by both teams? Would one team really obtain an advantage?

Each team uses their own footballs that have been prepared by them. The Colts footballs were also deflated when checked at half time, as you would expect given the ideal gas laws at play.
