Idk where the myth came from that Pats fans aren't critical of Brady. Sure some people may not be, but I think most of us are to an extent. I didn't buy Brady's testimony in the press conference following the the Colts game, but I also don't think the Payriots and Brady are running some serious ball deflation scheme. I also think the punishment to the Patriots organization and Tom Brady is excessive.
My guess is that Brady knows he likes the balls a little below regulation and asked the equipment guys to try and get the balls to pass inspection under inflated, which may or may not be that difficult considering the lack of consistency in actually checking the balls.
Can anyone explain why the NFL would go after the Patriots and Brady for such a minor infraction?
It's a power play. Goodell wants people to see he can do anything he wants, punish any team or player he wants, even without evidence, any time he wants. If the NFL wins this, it sets a terrible precedent for the league.
