Tom Henderson says the Splinter cell remake looks genuinely impressive

Fix his conehead looking face.

Yeah, the game is being built on the snowdrop engine that powered Avatar and Star Wars Outlaws. As well as the next Far Cry.

We can clown on assassin's creed shadows all we want too, but that game visually was a masterpiece. I expect this splinter cell game to look incredible.

Tom doesn't reveal anything about what makes it look genuinely impressive other than calling it a remake instead of a remaster.

I dont think Ubislop can deliver, so I really wish they will just can it.

I love the OG Splinter Cell games, they took the "Stealth" to a serious degree without over took install kill skills, or scenes. They where grounded and "realistic" in its writing and design. I dont think they will continue this, they will just create an action packed bastard version of this.

If it actually releases, I hope Im just death wrong, but I dont trust anything Ubisoft does.

Really hoping they keep the more realistic weighty controls of the first three games and not use the stupid streamlined snappy controls like in Conviction and Blacklist.

One of my favorite franchises, with Chaos Theory being one of my favorite games ever. Hope they can do the series justice!

Day One on Gamepass incoming based on "Henderson Bias".

Ubisoft desperately needs a win with one of their games for me. The last half dozen haven't grabbed me in the least. Of course they could just release Fenyx Rising 2 and everything would be peaches and cream for them...but that isn't happening.

A classic that i can't wait to play in glorious 4k with ray and pathtracing. But I won't get hyped because most aaa devs practice the fine art of fucking everything up. Let's wait and see.

Gotta love Ubi :pie_roffles::pie_roffles: 🤌

The real reason I expect this to end badly springs directly from the image Ubisoft shared today. Here's the alt-text: "Close-up of Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, showing a stern expression with focused eyes, short dark hair, and a rugged beard, set against a blurred high-tech background. He's locked in."

There's just one, well, wee tiny little problem: As sharp-eyed fan Naveen Chandar pointed out, "Isn't that from the opening cinematic of Pandora Tomorrow, and not Chaos Theory?" And you know what? It absolutely is.

FYI, that picture of Fisher is from the opening CG scene from Pandora Tomorrow.

Which makes me believe they're hinting towards a classic remaster collection, more than the remake's reveal.

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath for this. It's Ubisoft, so unless I get definitive proof, I'm always gonna assume they turned Sam Fisher into a one-armed trans person for "modern audiences".

As much as I love older SC games, remastering them after 2 decades wouldn't be enough. They've aged too much, especially when it comes to controlling the character and how the game isn't easy on the player (that actually shouldn't change).

I will remain sceptical that we won't get anything big that's Splinter Cell related, especially after Ubisoft's recent shift to focus on the biggest brands ideal for more monetization.
