The old face was still obviously white, but there was something vaguely mixed-race about it, like maybe the eyes seems slightly asian or something.

It just had more character though, imho.

Nothing so far in my area. Went in to pre-order it for the the bonus artbook but they wouldn't let me pre-order it.

Gonna try calling them again after in a few hours and see if they have it in stock by than.

Any reports of this at best buy being sold early? Good opportunity to use the 10% coupon some got that expires before the actual release date (1/31 vs 2/4).

Interesting that the 2 ports are handled by different developers.

You would think that with such similar chip sets that you wouldn't need to split development like that anymore.

Tried to pick it up at one of the local gamestops here in Ontario. Lady didn't believe they broke the street date anywhere. I made her day via finally canceling 100$ in pre-orders.

Edit- the other one told me they would be openly sued for doing it. Alrighty, welp that was fun.

Got mine at Gamestop this afternoon. It is installing now.
I have the PC version already, but TR is my favorite franchise so I am looking forward to playing it again on my TV.

I see two completely different face models in those pics, even taking into account the difference in angles, lighting, and capture tech. I need to see more of this in motion, however.

That neck seam lol, nevermind the terrible textures all around her, even if her face looked great that still doesn't change the rest, this is really looking like a quick and dirty port.

Funny you say that, I've heard people say the same about the eyes as well.

Its compressed, I captured it on my tablet the source video is sharper and I think ya just finding things to pick at
CD said they started this over a year ago so I don't think it was a quick and dirty it was probley what they had planned while developing TR when they received devkits for Nextgen, it's pretty evident the PC version with TressFX was a protype/beta for this version

Being compressed or uncompressed footage has little to do with it, textures don't suddenly become 4096x4096 just because it's not seen in a youtube / lower bitrate video.

PC version being a beta is hard to believe considering the implementation of tressfx amongst other things on PC still looks better.

Goddammit I hate that some (all?) PS4 games don't have manuals.

At least on the Vita there's an easily accessible digital manual... there's no such thing on PS4. Instead, this game has a URL for the manual on the inner cover...

Granted, I've played through the game on two different systems already so I don't need a manual - I just wanted to see the explanation for the interact stuff on Live with PlayStation.

Fuck everything about this release. If you give a crap about gaming on the whole you'd boycott practices like this. This reboot was originally conceived on the idea of taking Lara Croft, who had previously been a gross representation of male fantasy beauty, and turning her into a gritty and real character. Their changes to her character model in this release fly in the face of that very notion. By warming her skin tones, tweaking her facial structure, and essentially applying makeup to her they've not only abandoned the original intent, they've sucked out the realism.

In more layman's terms: It looks stupid as hell! AND they want to charge you full price to boot. Eat it, Square-Enix. If you wanted my money you could have added in more actual exploration and tomb raiding instead of pouring all your post content resources into a shitty multiplayer mode and prettying up a character for no god damned reason.

The game got taken off street date, so yeah most Gamestops will have it, but many will only have around 3-4 copies per system, unless they had more than a couple reserves.

Ours came in today, and all the Gamestops around me got. Almost out of ps4 copies though.

I just called my local best buy and they said they have them in the store but they cannot sell them til that February date or they could get a fine from corporate. I'm kinda chessed off cause I want my unlocked discount. I just sent an email to corporate to tell them to fix their shit.

I was referring to the footage it was captured from, the footage is more detailed its my capture thats compressed it and I noticed it straight away so yes it does effect the texture quality

PC version being a beta is hard to believe considering the implementation on PC still looks better.

No it doesn't there are some thing that do but overall no it doesn't, if it did PC gamers wouldn't be in the TRDE threads since its announcement chaffin shit, they wouldn't care about it which evidently they do.
And this thread is about the Nextgen version so less talk about the PC version please, no one cares

IMO the new Lara looks more like a young version of pre-reboot Lara. That alone makes it better for me. 2013 looked like a totally different person. Maybe its just me though...

I don't see your name in red so i'm just gonna assume you are not in any position to tell anyone on this forum what to do.

The only thing this version of the game has going for it are technical improvements and while i personally don't care if it's a thousand times better than my apparently shitty ass pc version it's still really interesting to see how it holds up because as we can all see it's not better than the pc version in every way not in graphics nor framerate.
