Tomorrow I start working remotely

This reminds me. Timesheets. Some of you might be asked to complete them to make sure you are "working" this policy is usually implemented spitefully by some manager who does not get to work from home in a normal situation.

What you need to do GAF is you should get one of these requests to complete timesheets is to have a full list written down separately of all the work related things you could possibly do. So when there is space to fill where you had nothing to do you populate the sheet with items from your pre-made list. Don't be afraid to bump up the time it took to do each task, everyone else will be doing it and it makes the task easier.

Once you have a couple of weeks worth of these completed and handed in on time (Again many people won't) then all you need to do is change the dates on each form and just fill in the actual work you did. Cut / paste and move things around so they are not 100% copies, just in case.

I looked for one of these old time sheets for an example but I no longer have them because they are/were bullshit and of no value.
Smart, but unnecessary if you have enough work.
We have the the problem that we are super busy, but the boss wants us to reduce hours so we consume the gathered overhour-pool instead of making more hours that cost the company extra money to pay.
Now i need the reduce my stock of 80+ overhours.

I work in IT and had to prepare a few notebooks for home office use. God, the amount of support calls with stupid questions I've had to deal with already... :(

I've been saying this event will signal a shift in work culture. A lot of companies are going to start to realize that remote work is possible and even more efficient. My Wife's job will be shifting remote as well this week permanently.

One of my last jobs was a very successful company when we all worked remotely. They got a little big for their britches and got a big office and added a lot of overhead and that's when hard times hit.

Same here. Its been a bit rough.

Wish I was, they're discussing how to set it all up today, I have a feeling they are going to set up the sales people to work from home and then expect the people who actually do the work to still come in. I've had collapsed lungs in the past so I'm pretty paranoid about getting this.

My company set up a 2 hour session for how to use Zoom. The first 60 minutes was taken up by showing people how to make an account . Normies are so dumb

It's all timing, and something that should happen every spring, little things like breathing on people, coughing etc. are things we've picked up from the virus I can't believe social distancing is a thing, home schoolers are use to this stuff.

ive got a tiny room with a door. its about the size of a toilet but theres no toilet

That's never stopped you before Cunth.

Anyway with the Covid thing been working remotely since last Wednesday. When we've had snow we've done the odd day here and there as an office but never a sustained effort like this. The first couple of days were a bit up and down with some people in the office and some not and some major problems when it came to communication, but we're all using MS teams and planner now and it seems to be going ok for the most part. I figured it was important to get into the habit of a new daily routine of doing some walks in the nearby park to create a bit of mental space between home/ work, work/home as well as just get some goddamn sunshine.

Dunno if I could work from home. Even if it was possible as a mechanic, which it's obviously not, I just think I'd feel trapped if I was stuck in my house all day long. I need to separate my work life and home life.

I enjoy working from home, and was starting to gravitate towards doing so more and more often even before this mess began. That said, being an IT guy, I kind of go through the day with a sense of impending doom, just hoping nothing crucial to our infrastructure decides to shit itself while I'm not onsite. No one else is going to go to the office for such things, so I am Legend, I suppose.

We're also still hiring employees (which I'll take as a good sign), so I HAVE to go in once or twice a week to unbox and connect PC's for them. That's actually a welcome break from what has become the new norm. At least in an empty office, I don't have to deal with coworkers that refuse to exist that email or phones exist and come directly to my desk with their IT problems, often with issues that would be far more efficiently communicated in writing.

Found something that might be useful:

Had to start 2 weeks ago. Everyone has to have a camera on for meetings. Means I have a collared shirt up top but below I'm in a pair of shorts. It's awesome.

My cat is not sure what to make of all of this. But she just takes a nap either on my lap or on the carpet beside me. She follows me EVERYWHERE. It's a good thing she's just so damned cute.

I had a videocall with a female colleague onetime she was at home and she was wearing an off the shoulder dress with the camera angled high so you could not see the dress. I had to ask "Umm, are you naked?" (She was a known alcoholic, so it was a definite possibility).

It's not so bad. My wife is working from home too so it's not so lonely. And we're both so busy we can't get on each other's nerves.

Working from home but its growing very difficult to stay motivated. I'm really starting to slack and theres not much work to be done anyhow so I always finish at a reasonable time. Getting paid salary is a blessing, I just hope I'm able to keep this job with their being so little to do overall amidst this self isolation. Fingers crossed.

Finding it fine, in fact better than fine. I work much better at home and my job is entirely digital anyway - I manage web content.

I wake up at 8.30am, sit around for a half hour, check emails and respond. Shower at 9.30am. Go back to emails and if there's nothing to do, I'll read a book for an hour waiting. Then I usually start doing proper work from 11am onwards, taking an hour lunch break where I go for a walk otherwise I'd probably kill myself due to cabin fever.

Run and/or workout for an hour at 5.30. Dinner at 7. Online course (music or design) for an hour 8-9.

Feels like I'm getting a lot out of my life without the anxiety that I should be doing something else.
