Soldering a heat spreader to a CPU yields much much better thermal performance than thermal paste, which was causing heat issues on Intel CPUs.

Granted this isn't HUGE news since they have been using soldered since the first Ryzen CPU.

Nevertheless, it's good to have confirmation for the 3000 series.
Ahh, that makes sense then. This will help overclocking or could it be an indicator that the need more cooling? Forgive my ignorance of this topic.

Soldered heat spreaders allow for better heat transfer which can aid in overclocking. At worst it allows the CPU to run cooler and that's always a good thing.
