First Simpsons I've watched in a few months, and it's not that bad. The best part so far was the mirror scene with Lisa. :lol

Also, the Lacy Peterson movie is on USA if anyone is interested...

EDIT: Yes, the "Duck" joke is an example of everything that's wrong with the show right now. But Milhous over the speaker phone was funny as hell.

Yes...it does....

Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck! Duck!

what are you people whining about now? that wasn't bad at all. damn, I just saw a good episode of SNL and Simpsons in the same weekend... I'm scared.

The only things I found funny were
the carrot sliver and Nelson punching Bart saying "you heard what the lady said" and making him eat the pancakes. The whole Nelson thing had absolutely no emotional resonance..."ooooh, he sings at night about his absent father, that's like, totally against type, who would have ever thought such a thing would be possible". Really...the whole "Bully shows sensative side" is as cliche as the bully type itself.

This episode gets a MEH....out of 5.

I thought Nelson singing a Streisand song was pretty funny. However, most of the time his lines were delivered in a really, well, bad way. It was as if the character Nelson was an actor, and he was a bad actor. Not convincing at all. I dunno. I'm glad to see that they're putting some of the heart back in that was missing last season. Maybe next season the characters won't be so stupid and stereotypical.

First time I watched a new episode in over 4 years. Holy fuck does the show suck dick now. I used to watch it religiously...

Dude, it was nearly, if not totally worse off four years ago. The Simpsons reached its peak, and fell right off it, a looong time ago.

Come to think of it, it was more than 4 years. I was in the 9th grade when I stopped watching. So fall of 1999 is more like it. Jesus Christ...that's 5 years ago. Man, time flies.

I'm fairly certain, because that's the year I was a freashman in college, it was in 99 that the phrase "Worst. Episode. Ever" was coined. 'Nuff said.

oh, and I thought that Nelson singing was horrible, too, but at least Bart's joke about it after he found Lisa was good.

Which is why I stopped watching.

The only part I liked was when Homer drew himself.

I was a HUGE fan of that...especially when he commented on his cuffs.

And I loved Milhouse on speaker phone, and Nelson's Streisand moment was only mildly entertaining...the rest was aggressively mediocre, although not as horrible as I've seen.

6.5/10
