Character flaws aren't all created equal. There's room for flaws that don't, IMO seriously damage her character.

Japan gonna Japan. Some people obviously like stuff like that (for some reason...), and in a show that played everything straight, I'd really be against it too. It's never gonna be my pref, because a more perfect Mikasa would be SOOOOO cool to see. It could take it from "show I'll watch" to "show I'm a big fan of!", for example.

But given what Titan is, how it works, and the overdone nature of EVERYTHING in the world... an exaggerated flaw fits in with the rest of the exaggeration.
