I'm trying to cook while watching this and that made this twist hard to follow. Can somebody recap?

Walter from the very beginning was working for the Nazi's he intentionally worked his way into the Hellsing organization so that when an opportunity arrived to awaken Alucard it could happen. Walter despite being warned about the fact the one hellsing guys would attempt to kill Integra he was mysteriously not around the night she was attacked.

Also Escariot guy was shot in the face but not killed by the lead Nazi guy so that Escariot guy wouldn't interfere because he ain't shit
