Missed the 3rd one about the interview, but the first two were spectacular. OT has been batting a thousand the last day or two.

This thread will be hype again when Attack on Titan is announced coming to the block as Dandy's replacement

Edit: gaming side has a challenger

Holy shit man..

My first thought was "Christ that guy must be new to the boards and used to the way people do things on GameFAQs or something" then remembered that he made the thread.

It's always funny to watch junior members wander into something unwittingly when they are not used to the board's rules/atmosphere compared to boards that are much more lenient on things like cheating/piracy/certain unscrupulous words and terms. "What, you mean piracy is wrong?! I am totes poor bro. I can't afford 30 dollar games!"

"What, you mean piracy is wrong?! I am totes poor bro. I can't afford 30 dollar games!"

The argument is also often "this developer doesn't deserve my money for their crappy game so I pirated it."

Which is of course silly considering you can rent/buy used. And then they might say those retailers don't deserve money either - then the poster is hopeless.

It's also insulting on a forum where lots of devs frequent and even are members of , it's like "yea, ok , thanks a lot asshole , I did crunch time and overtime with no pay"

It's almost as if someone CANNOT go without playing X game when it releases regardless of financial situation.

Kinda like that guy in the headphones not plugged in thread can't go without masturbating.

Thing is outside of actual piracy sites this is one of the most friendly places for emulation among bigger video game boards. There's tons and tons of people who are playing obviously pirated NES and SNES roms with or without fan translations but as long as you don't bring up particulars you are fine.

and anime gaf I'm sure used to be before legal streaming sites became the norm. I bet theres still a few shows that fall through the gaps that somehow non Japanese speaking folk have seen and understand a day or two after they originally aired.

Yup. It's basically don't tell anyone where you got it, otherwise whatever. It's the same with Sherlock and Top Gear, less Top Gear though because the show has actually told the audience where to go to find torrents of the show multiple times. Their website used to link directly to the place.

Well, it is.

Years later.

With a lot of changes...

Ehh...I'm not sure what the limits are to the rules, but I don't think you can call what subsequently becomes Power Rangers anything close to what was originally Super Sentai.

Sure it uses assets from the original show but the story, characters, plots, dialogue, actors, scenes are all almost completely different. That's not the same show anymore imo.

People should still go out and purchase the goods as they are released in their home country. It's better now that we have access to a lot of the stuff same day from other parts of the world.

I think a bigger difference here is if it is available where you are, then there shouldn't be any legit reason to pirate it. That was a lot harder with anime, manga, and other media before legal streaming sites came online. Games, especially like the one in that thread, are insanely easy to find and buy for next to nothing. There is no excuse there.

The lamest excuse I've ever heard for pirating Pokémon DS games is that they cost too much, i.e. the same price they launched at.
