Even though some friends hyped the shit out of it, I had no expectations going in, so it'd be hard to disappoint me, unless it was like actively garbage. And I definitely wouldn't say that.

I really like some of the characters and the way they play off each other
the humor is legitimately great
everything around the plot is complete nonsense, and not really in the good Gurren Lagann way even though that's clearly what they're going for
would also be nice if the show had a budget ever
anytime the show tries to get serious at all it completely fails

Definitely some missed potential and things they could have done better. The show suffered when it tried to do emotional or serious moments and Ryuko simply was outclassed by every other character and her own mood swings only made that worse...She should have just been GAAAARRR all the time and relished in the insane moments instead of being the straight man to them as..no one likes the straight man character...especially in a wacky ass show like this.
Still I really love the show. GL second half was some legendary shit so I now know why many were let down a bit since KLK kinda never recovers from its lul..but still enjoy it.
