Speaking of KlK (again), when are we getting the "Don't lose your May" subtitle, seda? This one is ticking me off. I hate seeing sloppy/unfunny subtitles.
I don't see how they stay in business with their crazy pricing structure

I don't remember anything quite as explicit as that. Sure you aren't inserting your own interpretation in those scenes?
lol, it's just too much to work with. I mean to those that who watched it I know you remember...
CN, Adultswim or even the advertisers aren't going to let that shit fly lol

Heh, your mind probably blocked out the memory. Those moments were so shocking and unexpected.Ok... well, my memory isn't exactly the greatest, so maybe I just don't remember quite as well.

It's okay, your brain probably suppressed those sick scenes. I've said it once but I'll say it again, I'm not sure how KLK gets a pass when it comes to creepyscenes but SAO is demonized. I personally found the acts abhorrent and sickening in BOTH series but feel like there's a double standard. I'm sure more people in here would speak out if KLK aired on toonami, but that's not happening.rape/molestation
BTW, your avi is awesome haha
I would like say, be it "on purpose" to make "a point"" or via satire, the use of serious issues simply to illustrate that someone is evil is not only lazy, but irresponsible story telling. People tend to get caught up on the idea the criticism simply comes from a point of condemning something because it should be "censored" or "not exist" but mostly it's a matter of these things typically being handled very very irresponsibly (and w.r.t movies and video games being treated as evocative, edgy, new, nuanced).
The part after Satsuki betrayed the mom, she tried to fight her 1 on 1 and was stopped mid tracks with one hand on her throat and another down there. I remember it being random as hell and stupid to begin with. Then the same happened when Ryuko was under mind control
Could be wrong but I remember it was something "off" like that. Unnecessary bth
Unnecessary, but not worse than some of the stuff in Adult Swim's original programming.
I wouldn't mind either way if it was cut out or not. It's not a prevalent thing in the show so it wouldn't be noticeable if it was edited.
Ugh, I felt terrible yesterday. I think I caught a nasty sinus infection from somebody. Didnt even get to enjoy my Memorial Day like wanted too. Still feeling like shit this morning too. .m
although I did start watching Orange is the New Black. Awesome show is awesome.
How'd your weekends go?
I am still trying to figure out if Watch_dogs is any good. The reviews are all over the place.
notes
why didnt anyone tell me i had a typo in the thread title
Outside of the jelly bean rape scene in Rick & Morty, I can't think of any Adult Swim original programming that pushes the envelope in regards to sexual abuse. Even Family Guy, the king of mainstream edginess, hasn't crossed that line. People take this shit seriously, the way it was portrayed in KLK is not only lazy storytelling, but also offensive. I'm not sure if it should just be swept under the rug.

It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure there were some scenes in the most recent seasons of Family Guy that had more touchy-feeliness happening on screen and went on for a lot longer than the KLK stuff.
I am once again appalled at the trivial shallow and callous way some people review Fairy Tail, it appears to be a difficult series for some so called anime 'reviewers" to grasp and to appreciate.
The art animation and character design of Fairy Tail continues to be first rate and among the best of any fantasy anime yet made. Each character has its own charm and is totally solid and well made.

We interrupt this Kill la Kill discussion to bring you the ridiculous post of a Fairy Tail fanboy.

I haven't actively followed Family Guy since 2010 so I'll just defer to you in that regard. Still, I have a hard time believing what they showed is anywhere near as risque as KLK considering the episodes air on Fox before coming to AS.
Because the main"rapey" scene that people point to in KLK wasn't even rapey, that was consensual as fuck (well, as consensual as things can be between an anime adult and her anime minor daughter, but you know what I mean). She wasn't being bound up, fighting, resisting, saying no, or doing anything to suggest she wasn't totally on-board with that bath scene. Hell, it was pretty clear that she was actually intentionally there for it to happen in the first place. That's in stark contrast to, say, any such scene in SAO. Was it weird and creepy and off-putting because of the whole incest angle and the fact that Ragyo is just generally a sinister and menacing lady (and of course the age factor, but really, does anybody take anime ages seriously)? Sure was. But it's a very different beast from what SAO gets vilified for.
I am trying to keep other anime I watch to a minimum but my god.

Speaking of people over-hyping shows...
I really hope you're not trying to downplay the fact that an 18 year old girl in high school got molested by her mother as 'consensual' because that would be a pretty messed up line of reasoning. It was rape, no quotation marks needed. Just because Satsuki didn't fight back against an authority figure that she trusted and has a blood bond to doesn't make it ok.
It's not a different beast, sexual abuse is sexual abuse and that topic is extremely upsetting to me. I'd rather it not be portrayed at all.
I totally forgot about Robot Chicken, that has definitely pushed the rape envelope as well. Although it's kind of different in that they portray male on male instead of male on female; I think that's intentional.
HxH deserves all the hype it gets.
Way to prove my point.
Time to eek my way past bad panel questions.

Considering the whole reason that scene happened was tohonestly it didn't bother me at all when it happened. The reaction I was hearing about on here, anime gaf, and twitter made me expect a scene along the likes of the Oberon scene in SAO and it was no where near that level. Ryago was notunlock Satsuki's full powerin SAO Oberon molests Asuna for his own pleasure and to make Kirito be miserable and forced to watch his gf/waifu be raped in front of him. Thats why people got more upset at SAO for it's scene then KLK for its scenetrying to get off sexually from the grope scene, she was primarily there to awaken her daughters true strength in preparation for the promised day
It helps that Jason is a champ online and off.It actually wasn't that bad. There was one question about subs, one about weekdays, one about AoT having a cut opening once..
Okay maybe it was.
Not trying to be a dick but I'm not surprised that scene didn't bother the king of uncle phil reaction pics. .

Not trying to be a dick but I'm not surprised that scene didn't bother the king of uncle phil reaction pics. I don't give a shit if the purpose was to 'awaken her true strength' because it was a poorly executed scene on a serious topic. I don't take sexual abuse lightly or brush it off in any form of entertainment, that shit was just sickening.
i might need to take a break from posting because I'm starting to get pissed off.

While still being an 'a-ha' moment in the series as to what was going on, it didn't make those sections any less creepy or even necessary. Even if it the purpose wasn'tI just can't defend those scenes based on how they handled them.for either party to "get off" in any way, it was highly sexualized every time. It completely flies in the face of the way they discuss sexualized tropes with both Ryuuko and Nudist Beach early in the series.
