That's probably the biggest factor for the drop, but I wouldn't call it a "mistake". I mean the other option was much worse. It would've taken 4 years to get to where it recently started on Toonami.

I can see it now. Right as I finally catch up on One Piece they announce they are dropping it from Toonami. (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻

Interesting to see DBZ do that well. Hope Kai does just as well too.

List of excuses for One Piece drops:

- Shippuden is a slog, people must be tuning out because of a bad lead-in
- One Piece airs too late, it's at a disadvantage
- Starting with filler killed interest
- It'll pick up once we get to Water 7
- Wait for the fights TBD

By the way Bass and GMN, I'm not calling you out or anything like that; you guys haven't been making excuses for One Piece drops every week. This is just slight ribbing towards the OP fanbase that won't admit the show has limited appeal in America.

I agree Bass, starting 200+ episodes in was a mistake but they were kind of in a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation.

i do think it's possible the fights will pick things up since that whole 200 episodes in thing matters a little less when the focus is more on people punching stuff and less on plot progression, which is largely what Water Seven has consisted of.

Also Regular Show did it better than Adventure Time just because it was more relatable and direct than the Adventure Time example. Too many people need to hear the truth spitting RS was handing out.

This may shock some of you, but from what I've found, Blue Exorcist seems to be giving One Piece a bump. Without that show afterwards, the ratings would probably be even worse. I'm going to be posting some monthly data for all of toonami that I compiled here soon.

Judging by the improvements, Blue Exorcist and Black Lagoon were good pickups at least. One Piece, eh, but eventually people will have to watch it when every other show ends!

They're like middle schoolers. 's the right age.

I think AT's dealing with it is pretty relatable. But then again I find all of AT relatable even though it's so weird, so idk.

You're still posting an average of about 500 times per month which usually still lands you in the top 10, I'd guess Toonami having 6 premiers (7 when Dandy s2 starts) helps keep your post count up even if you don't do the whole 6.5 hour challenge

Also I think it's safe to say we'll probably get a movie night for the 4th of July weekend which IIRC was even worse on ratings then Memorial Day was last year. Maybe it's time to whip out a Bleach movie
or whip out a Fairy Tail one to gauge interest :p

I think it'd be worth having two numbers for overall, overall numbers for first half of the block (11:30 - 3) and second half (3-6) along with overall for the month. That would let us see how the top half of the block (premiers) vs the bottom half (repeats) are each doing respectively.

They use their precious advertising budget on the show headlining the block (Space Dandy and now, AOT) and sometimes the rundown. Before those two showed up they did either the run down or the promos for movie night/new acquisitions.
