Miyamoto Musashi was still alive during the events of Samurai Champloo. Sorta. Champloo takes things from the Edo period at random but a lot of it occurs during the era that Musashi was still alive.

The point of Johnny is that you can't be sure if he's serious, not that he can't be Musashi. He very well could have been a fictionalized Musashi in the show but we'll never know for sure.

Musashi died in 1645. The absolute earliest that Champloo could be considered to take place in 1639, and, given some of the elements of the main plot and word of god from Watanabe stating that it takes place around 60 years after the end of the Sengoku Jidai, the best guess "target" date for Champloo would be somewhere around 1660-1675.

So it's more likely that Musashi would be relatively recently dead, but it's still in the ballpark where it could be plausible that he was secretly living life as a hermit.

Like if you came across some guy claiming to be Tupac. You're pretty sure he's dead, but what if, right?

IBO seems pretty different for a Gundam show. I'm not a huge Gundam expert, but the feeling I got from people watching it was that the show had a lot more quiet character moments than most Gundam shows did. For every action heavy episode, it had a calm character focused one. I personally liked it a lot, even if there are a couple small weaker arcs.

IBO is different from the Gundam series most westerners are familiar with. Wing, SEED, G. IBO is very much paced like a UC series, like 0079 or Zeta where the character moments are crucial and often more important than the battles.

the only good Zoids was the one that had Liger Zero, good cast of characters, and you can understand the impracticality of the Zoids because they are in a sports competition

the one where they went to war was such bullshit, why would you use those things in a war, they look so useless

That Zoids has a bunch of Inuyasha's cast doing the VA.

Who would've thought that getting towed the night before Memorial Day was so extortionist...

I wish cancer on those people for making me wait until tomorrow morning.

Getting towed sucks.

You know what else sucks? The car you're about to inherent breaking down.

^This^

You can't take this show 100% legit on historical accuracy after all. by 1643 Musashi was on his way to being a hermit and we are watching an alternate universe take on the edo era, things are skewed greatly with only the narrator/Inspector Manzo to phone in every once in a while to drop some wikipedia knowledge on us.

All I'm saying is I wish they did more with it, it could've been a great plot point for later, having Jin learn more then 1 thing from a legend like that.

Best Friend may no longer want to be my best friend because he perceives the consideration of others' DNA/flesh as "walking around eggshells", perceives my above-average empathy as "overthinking things", tells me that I should"Think about yourself then others", and asked him if I was one of the good [whites] and he said yes.

I've never been a situation like this before. 6 years I've known him and I now finally put my foot down towards intolerance yet I feel so lost while he is standing tall on his wrongness.

Almost everyone that personally surrounds me & know in this city is prejudicial on some level. Maybe one or two friends and maybe 6 family members that I could talk to about but even I'm not sure anymore on rather their knowledgeable about the suffering of others or not. Everyone else that isn't a bigot either is only known on the internet or are far away from the city.

So I'm bored, and I'm reading Final Fantasy Lightning Returns spoilers.

I don't what I'm reading.

God sucks all emotion out of Lightning?
Hope was tortured for 500 years, and destroys his body?
The new evil god killed his mother, replacing her to become god, so he could destroy everything to make a perfect world, but he wants to give Lightning a chance to collect everyone's souls?

G is a bit overhyped, but it's aged pretty well all things considered. Much better than Wing. Only thing Wing has that really has aged excellently is Endless Waltz's animation.

As a huge gundam fan, just watch Turn A and then you're probably good forever.
Personally, I much prefer Wing over everything else with Gundam so far, so I'm also going have to simply disagree.

I am more interested in Turn A than any of the ones I haven't seen yet, though.

Since I have more of an affinity for Macross than Gundam as far as mecha shows go, IBO being more character-focused shouldn't be a particularly difficult sell for me.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.

If life has you down, just remember one thing: At least you're not Christian Weston Chandler.

I finally got my car back this morning from the stupid tow yard, God, that apartment complex manager is a huge douche knowing that the yard would be closed on Memorial Day. I hope that manager and the tow yard people get afflicted with cancer.

I'm not sure if marathon ratings are worth a damn, though I would love to see how a Champloo marathon fares against other marathons.

Dare I even ask what's happening with him this time?

From what I could gather:
A troll named "Johan" challenged Christian asking "who's the better lover" or something, and posted a video of him screwing a blow up doll (not actually him, just some video he found off an amateur porn site). Christian decided to repeat "JULAY" and posted a video to YouTube where he shows off his various "positions" with a blow up doll. It's both horrifying and comical.
Christian continues to show why he is the king of "making a fool of himself online".

So THAT'S why I saw random like & share buttons at the bottom of the pages earlier today. I just thought it was "leakage" from some of the ads.

Weird that there wasn't a thread making notice of this new feature.
