This arc shows how Kawahara's writing has improved over the course of SAO. The focus on Kirito and how he has to confront his past after finding peace in ALO is interesting. If he never left ALO then I wonder if he would have had to deal with that dark event in his life for the rest of time. The nightmares would be unbearable. This side of Kirito is one that we hadnt seen before and I enjoy seeing him, not only helping Sinon with her thing but also using the same advice for himself.
