I dislike Haikyuu. Kuroko is better.

I like Kuroko a lot but I think I like Haikyuu better. Characters are stronger, and it feels a little less tropey. Kuroko gets pretty hype though, and I enjoy the Basketball magic.

Watching Haikyuu right now, it is good but not OMG fantastic like I have seen from a lot of people.

I like how the MC doesn't play the starring role in the team though

Haikyuu does a lot of things right. The animation and music are on point. All the characters are likable, even the rivals. Nobody is a straight up villain, just good ol' rivalries. The matches are all pretty exciting but still grounded in reality. Really good use of stylized animation to keep things hype.

It deserves all the praise it gets.

There are quite few sports that don't really have a lot of manga rep. Hockey, American Football and Figure Skating come to mind.

There are a few long running Golf series.

I guess most people just make Baseball or Martial Arts series since those are very popular in Japan.

Martial Arts is easy because shonen battles with possibly sexy results if females are involved.

I have never heard nor seen a hockey anime ever. I would like to see it, plus I want to see the Canadian viewer's reactions.
