You can trust me, I read it. The series is a fun romp until it gets FMA'd. At the time of the anime's production, there were only 30 or so chapters of material to adapt which led to an anime original ending full of "Your Mileage May Vary". The manga though? Shit's awesome. Nothing mind blowing or earth shaking, but really slick.
