Tosh.0, it's like The Soup, but for the internet!

Has anyone been watching this? Daniel Tosh is a pretty good comedian and he does a pretty good job of playing the Joel Mchale role commenting on internet clips and memes in humorous ways. The show is pretty much identical to The Soup in format. Tosh stands infront of a greenscreen with a studio audience and reacts and comments on various internet things throughout the day.

The best video feature that have is called Web Redemption. They get fail videos from the internet then get the star of the videos to come on the show and attempt to redeem themselves.

One example is the overweight black chick who fell on her ass when singing on a table. They had her come on and train with an Olympic Gymnast trainer then do a singing routine ontop of a table.

They also did a skit with Chris Crooker which is pretty funny (and he's kinda pretty, to be honest)

From the most recent episode they did a large reaction vid to 2 girls 1 cup with the studio audience.

what says gaf?

I've enjoyed the show for the most part. It certainly hasen't dissapointed me.

My favorite web redemption so far is definitely either the afro ninja or puke kid. And I can't tell you how much I laughed watching the dude trying to karate chop the coconuts (see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-4EfIWeqVM)

I definitely have been making a concious effor to see it every week. I think it will be pretty good if it can keep fresh videos coming. Otherwise it will turn into Web Soup (the G4 version), which pretty much shows the videos that Tosh.0 just showed.

This show...I was so expecting to suck...it makes me laugh out loud, he is a great host, his attempt to eat a tablespoon of cinnamon, eat 5 crackers, and crack 100 coconuts, all while on Kanna, was simply hilarious.

Great show.

This, the soup, and Three Sheets, need nothing else.

Reminds me of the great show that used to be on VH1. Umm, Web Junk 2.0 (I think?). Had an awesome host too.

Show is pretty funny. I like web redemption when he brings in the famous viral internet people ie afro ninja, chris crocker, that pageant girl, and then just makes fun of them! :lol

He came to UConn once and was an insult comic IRL, didnt expect it, but damn funny.

I don't particularly find this show funny, which is unfortunate because I was looking forward to it. I like Daniel Tosh's stand-up, but the writing for this is just generally unappealing to me.

I like his stand-up a lot and saw a few episodes of this. Thought it was pretty funny. Are new ones still airing?

The show sounded really stupid during the promos, because I've seen networks try this concept before. A couple years ago it seemed like there were a ton of shows that were pulling clips off the internet to comment on. But anyway Comedy Central showed some of Tosh's standup last week, and man! I forgot how hilarious this guy was.

The show doesn't impress me, but I leave it on in the background just for the visuals.

Translation: I'd pound him like a piece of veal.
:lol

I love Daniel Tosh but I'm really torn on this show. I fucking hate this trend of Twitter feeds and YouTube videos showing up on the news and stuff, so my first reaction to the idea of his show is hostility.

And yet, it's Tosh AND it's funny. I've watched it a little and I imagine that's what an ulcer feels like if it's hilarious. So many mixed feelings!

I'm glad he's getting paid, though.

I was fairly skeptical at first. I thought "meh, I can find my own youtube clips." But then I realized that I'm too lazy to do that and it's much easier to have funny clips spoonfed to me, so I gave it a chance. I have to say, it's not bad at all!

I haven't watched CC with any consistency in who knows how long so I've never heard of this. Web Soup is pretty great though.

I would take The Soup over this any day, but that's only because The Soup is ridiculously awesome.

Tosh.0 really isn't that bad from the few episodes I've seen of it. Definitely has funny moments, at least. That's hardly expected out of Comedy Central these days.

do people get compensation for their clips being TV show fodder like AFV?
Nope. A sketch I did called Baby got on there, but the Comedy Central people freaked out and in the end all the best parts were edited out. It's just free publicity / notoriety. The Web Redemption idea is hilarious though.

Last web redemption I saw was hilarious, with Dennis Rodman blocking the shit outta the super dizzy guy.

Im glad I gave it a second chance. Its not bad at all. I thought the web redemption with the "why must I cry?" video remix was fucking hilarious. The dizzy dunk guy was great too.

+1 for Viral Video Film School. I've searched GAF before but was surprised it didn't have it's own thread.

(late reply) but I posted a thread last year about Infomania (which is where I first saw Viral Video Film School) but didn't get any replies :(

lol

Dan Tosh is hilarious. I actually got turned onto him by someone who doesn't like him. He's hilarious. He's really awesome as an insult comic, but I think he's one of those legit comics that actually prefers earning credit on his own work, not just stealing shit. IIRC, he's one of those who hated on Dane Cook. Anyway, I'm a fan of his and of his show. I really wish CC would give him a special instead of that unfunny piece of shit Dmiriti Martin. Unfortunately, Tosh hasn't discovered the secret that Dmitri did, b/c Martin is unfunny as hell and kees getting offers from Viacom, whereas Tosh has to almost beg for production money despite being a million times funnier than Dmitri in his sleep. PEACE.

If they do I would put it past them to edit the laughing in post.
He's green screen, and why the hell would he need the laugh track? The dude is legitimately funny, and he obviously comes up with some of his material on the fly. Otherwise, itwouldn't come off as so low-budget. PEACE.

I've been watching this, it's pretty funny sometimes but other times can suck.

There is an actual Soup for the internet called Web Soup on G4, fucking horrible.

I've been watching this all week on CC, and they have like 4 episodes straight right now.

Good stuff.

Hey, what great timing. Season two starts tonight! Or at least the first six new episodes since it got picked up after the ten episode initial order over the summer.

Bah, I just checked, it conflicts with Sunny.

Great show, try to catch it whenever I can. Tosh is one of my favorite comics as well.

Tosh.0, it's like The Soup, but even less funny!

It's youtube people, you REALLY don't need commentary over a video of a fat lady falling off a table.

Watch Sunny instead
