Touch (Me) Kirby

Is there Final Fantasy levels of text to translate in the game that's keeping them from releasing it until JUNE in the US?

I don't see any text in the game at all besides the menus. NoA is just spacing out releases :\

My guess is they're waiting till June because of summer vacation for kids. I mean it is a Kirby game after all.

Don't they realize that they have people who own DS systems right now and would like a good game to play more than once every two or three months?

Yeah I realize that. I'm just saying for a game like Kirby, they're probably thinking that releasing it right around summer vacation would be a good idea for all the kids going on holiday and needing a game to go along with them.

I think Metroid Prime Hunters was supposed to be the big spring/summer title for the DS in North America, but that probably got delayed to fall to coincide with the DS Network debut.

I'd like to be playing Kirby and Nintendogs this month, but it doesn't look like that's in the cards.

And if it didn't, and it ships without online play, Tommy Boy needs to go hit them on the head with a tack hammer because they are a retard.

Nintendo seems to have problems always filling that January-June post-launch void for their game machines in North America it seems.

N64 (Jan-June '97)

Mario Kart 64
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter
Blast Corps
Star Fox 64

GameCube (Jan-June '02)

NBA Courtside 2002
Resident Evil Rebirth
Eternal Darkness

DS (Jan-June '05)

Wario Ware DS
Yoshi Touch N' Go
Polarium
Kirby DS
Pac-Pix

... doesn't seem to be a situation that's improving. Might be getting worse actually. We'll see if the same thing happens with Revolution.

Kirby Canvas Curse? WTF?

What's with Nintendo lately and the lack of 's in their titles? For example, Yoshi's Touch & Go sounds a gazillion times better than Yoshi Touch & Go. Same with Kirby's Air Ride vs. Kirby Air Ride. Kirby Canvas Curse just sounds stupid.

Marketing divisions in America are so predictable. They never, ever take chances with anything. So boring!
I guess they're following Mario Tennis and Mario Golf. Mario's Tennis and Mario's Golf just don't sound right. :P

Kirby Canvas Curse sounds crap though.

If anyone can't wait for Kirby to be released in the US, just buy the Japanese version. We can post Japanese translations of everything here and it will only be about 10 lines long :D

The translation is probably done. Nintendo is famous for "sitting" on completed titles for months to space out the releases.

I think I'll come back to this offer in a few days. All these positive comments and the stylus that might not be included in western releases made me order it at Lik-Sang.
Thanks in advance for the translations! :)

And whoever decides to do that right now is a retard. They need good titles on the shelves, especially with competition now.

The scales got tipped by Luigi Mansion vs. Luigi's Mansion, so they're just trying to balance things back out.

Virtual Boy launched with Mario's Tennis. They're not going to repeat THAT mistake again!

I feel I have to update my original impressions. The first hour or so, I'd only completed the first two worlds, and played trials a few times. Now I've completed the third world, and started the fourth world, I feel the need to clarify one point.

This game fucking ROCKS! The levels quickly become interesting, and the graphics really took a step up on the fourth world with some seriously gorgeous background art. The big improvement has been with copy abilities... it starts to actually make sense in the third world. Now my main fear is that the game will be over too quickly, but there is a lot of extra work to collect all the medals, I think.

Argh, that friggin' sucks.

Kirby DS and Another Code should at least be coming out here before June :P

Anyways keep the impressions coming.

Kirby Canvas Curse? They're making things almost too easy for the trolls.

Thanks for all the wonderfully glowing impressions guys. You're making the wait until June that much harder :(

Though, selfish as it sounds, I'm kinda happy with the June release. Gives me some time to work through all my backlog and such.
