This is great news. I was worried about them. With the way things have been going with lay-offs and shut-downs, I hope more studios can move towards becoming independent.

That's crazy, and I'm happy for them. They had a hand in multiple franchises that immediately come to mind when I think 'Activision', which is all the more reason why I'm surprised they actually gained their independence.

Thank God! Any studio who manages to escape the clutches of the big publishers is a winner in my book!

Looking forward to what they bring next

Maybe they can work together with Paul Reiche III. and Fred Ford to help out on Free Stars. That's their successor in all but name (since Stardock own the IP...) to Star Control!

Its good news to hear, but I hope they don't pull an Ascendant (ex-Sledgehammer) and start making CoD-style games as an independent studio.

I wish them luck!

Super stupid of MS to let them go imo. It was one of the more interesting gets from the ActiBlizz acquisition to me. The games they make are exactly the kind of variety MS needs imo.

I was imagining a remaster of the Banjo games by these guys. Spyro 4. Crash 5. A sequel to CTR. Etc. Etc.

Dodged a bullet the size of San Francisco.

I don't know why people are cheering on TfB. Did anyone here actually play their Crash Bandicoot game? It's the worst one I ever played, with the worst levels and an overabundance of riding parts. Their Crash Team Rumble game is probably even worse, but I don't know, I didn't play that massive failure.
Their Crash Bandicoot 4 also reeks of blue hair people who turned the good looking version of Tawna into a generic boss girl character. Just look for yourself and tell me this isn't a downgrade.

I think the point is they're not in a rush to get away from Xbox and in fact are happy to work with them.
Not in this current economic. Nintendo or Sony gives them security unlike MS.

With how MS was happy to shutdown tango, they will be careful with how they do business with MS. Especially with gamepass/Xbox current situation.

I'm not sure you're understanding me so I'm going to tell you again. MICROSOFT are publishing their next game, they're funding their next game, got it now?

How come they escaped but Tango got double tapped
I'm guessing they never gave up, had motivated leadership with some money in the bank, got themselves some investors and ironed out a deal with MS.
Meanwhile at Tango: "Guess I'll die?".

I thought a "Pirate Tawna" from another universe was a pretty clever way to explain her absence from the series (blame the Nihonese for that).
Did they do it for the wrongs reasons to get a girl boss Tawna? Yes? Probably, but there's nothing stopping them from having OG damsel in distress Tawna return in a based & redpilled sequel.

Great, please do more good remakes of old games. Modern studios are taking 4-6 years to put out new stuff and half of it is shit.

Tango was dead as soon as Mikami left. Sucks, but it's inevitable for studios built around one person (especially smaller ones like Tango). Definitely a big risk to move to a shop like that if you're a dev working at a larger studio, if "the guy" decides to retire/hang it up you're probably going to be looking for employment soon after.
