I did it a few months ago over a bs ticket.
Decided to give the most popular one a try, and had to spend a specific amount of time on each section. Supposedly it should've give you quizzes throughout each time period (an hour or so or something) to make sure you're still there. The quizzes are dumb stuff (during registration it asked me 20 questions: what's my home town, favorite beach, favorite food, favorite day of the week, favorite color). Still, the quiz questions didn't come out for me cause I was using firefox and they were stupid in writing their code.
Regarding the final test, it was long and difficult. Thankfully, I archived every chapter from the driving material (copied and pasted it into a word document) which made answering the test easy (searched the text for each question when I didn't remember the default speed limit on highways, which color meant "caution", the average cost to the government in car accidents each year, etc.). Still, pretty convenient cause I did one module at one time, and saved my progress, and came back to the next module a few days later.
It's time consuming but flexible, and tricky if you don't "archive". Still, the one other traffic school I attended was in person and the instructor threw out the quiz and had us all shoot the shit for a few hours.
They each have their pros and cons.
