Are these games fun?, I remember playing one for the Dreamcast, and I wasn't too fond of it. :lol

Just to see what all the fuss was about, I bought Densha de Go 3. What a mistake that was.

The graphics were just atrocious, but that wasn't nearly as shocking as how purely difficult the game was. The amount of time and distance lee-way you're given between stops is painfully precise; miss a stop by more than 3m or 2 seconds and you've pretty much fucked yourself over for the entire game.

But I could see the appeal of something like this for graphics alone; to me it'd be a better experience than assembling a model train set.

Whats makes these fun? Will these people buy a SimGrass?

Well, riding trains is a central experience to Japanese metropolitan life and cross-country travel, as well. Its going to appeal more in Japan because its something they experience on a daily basis and can thus identify with.

... welcome to the world of Japanese trains!

where they do stop within a couple of inches of assigned alighting points and are stupidly on time.

Densha De Go! for PSP! I love Densha De Go!. I played the DC version to death and even bought the Neo Geo PC version (which is surprisingly good). This one looks like it's going to be awesome. I thought they had ended the series. Happy day!
