Don Murphy, producer of the live-action Transformers movie, dropped a huge bomb on his message board when he replied to a fan's question asking if Unicron might be in the film.

Murphy stated simply, "Unicron is mentioned in film one and may show up in the third."

New York-born Don Murphy is a graduate of the University of Southern California's School of Cinema-Television. He broke into the film business by discovering an unknown screenwriter named Quentin Tarantino and producing, along with his then-business partner Jane Hamsher, his script for Natural Born Killers. That highly controversial film was directed by Oliver Stone; Murphy's memories of making NBK are recalled in Hamsher's book, Killer Instinct: How Two Young Producers Took on Hollywood and Made the Most Controversial Film of the Decade. Murphy formed his production company, Angry Films, in 1998. He went on to produce a string of films: Double Dragon, Permanent Midnight, Apt Pupil (directed by fellow USC grad Bryan Singer), Bully, and From Hell, which was based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore. Murphy is currently producing another big-screen adaptation of an Alan Moore graphic novel, 20th Century Fox's The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Not exactly a resume to get too excited about. Still could be worse, could be Uwe Boll directed and written by Paul Anderson. TRANSFORMERS - APOCOLYPSE!

John Rogers is writing the film, here are some excerpts:

1. They will come from Cybertron and not be the product of human engineering.

2. They are searching for Energon

3. They are battling for control of the Matrix

4. There will be a core group of Autobots, and a core group of Decpticons (ie. Xmen, how there were like 5 main Xmen and 5 main villans)

5. Megatron WILL NOT be a gun. No if's and or But's about it. He is not even considering it, and neither is Don Murphy, Speilberg or Dreamworks.

6. The Witwicky's will be in it as the main Humans.

7. They are currently working with Automakers to get the rights to use the cars.

8. Updates to characters will be made (ie. Soundwave will most likely not be an 80's style boombox, with cassette).

I am sure there is more, but I dont remember it all.

Yea it was a nice twist though . For me aslong as Jazz survived I was kind of happy. But the other guys that got killed when the decepticons attacked the shuttle from the moonbase to earth was pretty bad . I liked Iron Hide alot.

IronHide was the only guy I was mad about dying. Everyone else on that flight was a 3rd String character, that probably had no where to go in terms of story Development, so they got rid of them. It was also a way for the toy companies to make room for new toys.

How could anyone think Transformers the Movie is bad? Simply put, it is the greatest animated movie of all time.

I was totally traumatized by Ironhide's death as well. His final, "noo..." before being shot in the face really crushed my seven year old soul.

Even a CD player would suck since a CD doesn't really have the architecture to turn into a Ravage, Rumble, or Laserbeak.
